As far as I can tell, they aren't the assisted type, but I could be wrong. FOr $30 though, I would have to say no

These are standard opening, however they are still a great knife for the money. They have a really thin profile for a larger knife, similiar to the Vapor models except they are made in the US.

The Storms are a frame lock, I would imagine this was to keep costs down, as they did the same thing with the Vapor.
