Kershaw Tilt...why

Are they not making another run of these??!!

It seems like everyone who has them loves them and those who don't have them want one. I know I want one.
With all the new designs they have come out with this year, it seems like a no brainer that they should have a second run of these (in a different steel or something so you can tell the first from the second run) and they should make an identical smaller version.

Should we start a petition?

They did a bunch of limited edition models to appeal to collectors. Making more would go against that.

I'd say they should give it the 0770 treatment and release a slightly smaller more budget-oriented version in S30V / Elmax. Maybe even a Sandvik or 8Cr version given that they're putting KVT in cheaper models now.

Making more would just dilute the love, the attention, the exclusivity and all of that good stuff. Everyone wanted Twinkies when there was a Twinkie shortage. Now that there are plenty of Twinkies, no one cares.

This might be great, but PLEASE NO MORE 8Cr.
I think we have all had our fill of that and would love to have some more steel variety in the Kershaw lineup. I like a few of the new Kershaw models, but at some point I don't need that many lower end blades.

Of course if I like it enough, I won't turn down 8Cr, but there are sooo many out already.

Perhaps you don't need any more value knives, but the imports are at price points that work extremely well with our distribution, and continue to be a force within our Sales dept. That's a good thing.

As to the OP, the Tilt...yea, I don't see any variations or another run on the originals. Sorry bout that.

I know I definitely need more Kershaw value knives, and I already have several. Please make lots more.

From the beginning, the Tilt seems to have been destined to appear in very limited quantities. I had not found out that there were DLC versions until after they were all gone (the same week or so). I only managed to get a stonewashed version, and it's a think of beauty. Maybe the lack of supply on the blade steel had something to do with it. In any case, it's a very good knife. ;)

I found a brand new Tilt, serial# 17 in a small gun shop for full, original retail price. I bought it for 2 reasons. One to make a few bucks and two so someone could enjoy a BNIB knife with a great serial#. The knife had been in the glass case for years and most locals couldn't figure out why the heck a knife would cost so much. I sold it privately because I knew of someone that probably had an interest. I did open it a few times before sending and my Lord what a smooth knife. Smooth as in almost surreal. The design was a little radical for me, but I get the appeal.

I have many knives that will be sold off at some point. My Tilts will NOT, they are incredible.

It's disappointing to hear that there will no longer be any more runs of this knife.
I guess I will have to make my own Tilt. I think I'll use 3v steel. No worries it will be something I make for me and only me

This makes me sad. I am making my sad face. Can you see it? If not, you should be able to feel it. It's a very sad face.

Go punch some people in marketing and R&D and make them okay a production 3.5" wharncliffe manual bearing flipper. It'd be like the Needs Work but not with the chintsy handles or the AO and with a flipper and with bearings and a longer blade.

So basically a completely different knife. USE YOUR INFLUENCE FOR THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE, WE BEG YOU.

Still won't be a Kershaw Tilt, but please post up pics. I would love to see it. Or would pics be for you and you only??

I mean I would love to buy one but I just don't have the current funds nor the motivation to pay 800-2000 for one.

I'm going to finish acquiring and setting up my new space to start making knives so it will be one of the first I do from scratch. No water jet or anything. Pieces of steel and titanium that I cut and shape.
I'll post pics when I start and finish it. It will be awhile since I have a lot on my plate but I'm hoping before the end of the year to have a 3 in blade and a 3.5 inch blade version

Step 1. Make an overbuilt ZT version with M4

Step 2. Also, make a cheaper version under Kershaw that's more gentlemanly with something like ZDP-189

Step 3. Profit

Step 4. Step back. Smile at the perfection of the idea and plan.

Step 5 Kick yourself for taking so long (nice version of step 5. Lol)

Tilt is hard to beat....
