Hello Steve. How are you? I just got a Kershaw TIzdp189 and I noticed when I squeeze the handle the lock bar goes all the way to the non locking side. the lock bar does have full contact with tang and using your lock test it does not move. Also, appears to have light stain on blade near edge kinda looks light dried oil stain. tired WD40 and Ballistoll to remove stain or film but no luck. Sorry, I can't post pictures.

ZDP is known for some staining. I would not worry so much about it. The rust eraser would probably remove it or some brass polish paste like SimiChrome maybe. The eraser would probably scratch it.

On the lock. I have seen a lot that do this. My own Damascus Leek does this and my ZDP189, as well as my S30V Leeks also. It is of little concern with a hardened stainless lock like that one. Now on the ti leek it may wear faster but as thick as that is and as good as Kershaw makes their contact footprint I doubt seriously you will ever have issue with it.

If and when it developed vertical blade play would be the time to be concerned. Based on my experience with those its a long ways off before that will be an issue.

Thanks STR. I knew I could count on you for an informative answer. I really like the TIZDP Leek as it is so nice and slim and light. I think I am seeing a pattern on the knives I like.

The Leek is one of my favorite models from Kershaw. I've always thought it was very nice, even sexy looking folder. I do wish at times that it had a tad bit more handle for me but overall its a good fit for most everyday carry needs.
