Kershaw Vapor: first impressions

I carried one for a while. The lock didn't really engage well on the first one I bought and I took that one back. Wally world had like six at my store and I know the guy behind the counter so he let me play with all of them and I picked the best one. The only thing I ever noticed on it was that on occassion I had to look at it to find the frame lock to close it. It didn't seem to just stand out: as there isn't much of a lip on it to bump it with your thumb, but actually that is a good thing because it makes it less likely to accidentally close.

They are pretty good knives and nice and slim too. But check them to get a good one. That first one's lock for me was one of those that barely engaged. Like just a tiny bit of the lock would be behind the blade to support it. Granted it may have improved over time but I just prefer to be sure from the start.

I got one thanks to Thom recently, the one I have is perfect, however I did a quick check on the forums while writing up some notes and yes QC seems to be a problem, lock engagement in particular. This one has the equal of any I have seen though to date.
