Kershaw Vapor

On Ryan's say-so I went and picked one of these up at WalMart. Nice knife! Very nice considering the price. I'm just recently getting into knives. I had a BM 705 Axis for a while and that was all I ever felt like I needed until I got bit by the bug. Now these damn knives are sapping away my gun money! I still have more of a "tool" mentaility when it comes to knives, but maybe that'll change in a while.

Did yours happen to come with 'Japan' on the blade or did you get a China built one that was good?

I went to get another one, and they were out...

It ain't over yet!!!

My beautiful girlfriend just picked up one for me at the Walmart in East Peoria. Damn my luck, they aren't in StL yet. We are always last to get the new Walmart "deals".

A pretty new Super Center (aren't they all?) in Alvin had one... and it is a Japan model too!!!!

Yeehah!

If they would just carry that Harsey Air Ranger with a plain blade... sigh!

I found one. Living in two areas has some benefits at least. I went to the Cortland, NY and Painted Post, NY Walmarts today. I found both had Japanese versions of the Vapor, but there were distinct differences in the Japanese models. Some had a smallish hex head pivot screw, while the one I selected had a rather robust torx pivot screw. They all locked up very well, but I found the one I selected to be very smooth in operation, so needless to say, it's clipped to my pocket as I write this, keeping my Chive and SAK Soldier company.

For $20, ya gotta love it. I have a camp planned in three weeks, so I'll field test my new pair of Kershaw's then (other than the normal carry/use tasks).
