Thermite because;
-G10 Scale
-Frame lock with stabilizer
-Familiar and effective deep carry clip
-Full inch linger handle for larger hands (mine are size large with most gloves)
The Volt looks nice though and is lighter and more compact if that is what you are shooting for.
I have both. The spanto blade on thermite takes some getting used to if you are used to traditional tips. Not good or bad just different. The major differences were already listed and it will come down to your preference. In the end for everything but weight in my opinion the thermite wins.
The deep pocket clip on the Thermite is nice but deployment is not as facilitated as a carry position with more reveal.
Spanto is different than clip and drop points but is a useful blade shape nonetheless. I wish the Thermite was lighter and wasn't deep pocket carry but i do like knife and feel as though they provide decent value.
Nobody bite my head off over what im about to write. This is only my personal experience. I threw out my thermite. The lock failed too many times. The flexing in the entire knife while open got to be ridiculous.
I had a Thermite with a bent lock bar; sent it back and got either a new lock bar or a new knife - actually don't know as my knife was new. I don't feel as though the knife is unsafe but it's not my go-to folder for tough jobs. It is decent value for the money and a knife i won;t cry about if it turns up missing as folders sometimes do.
