Not sure if this is the correct forum to pay them a compliment ?
I recently sent them an 8 " Shun Chef's knife that I had somehow scratched on both sides.
The knife was totally functional, but with my obsesive esthetic sensibilities, I could not handle seeing the scratches every time I used it. I returned it, admitting that I was at fault, and that I would be willing to pay to polish out the scratches. Could anything be done? It took about 8 days from my sending it, to receive a brand new one in a beautiful box.
I think that says a lot about the company.

I got really lucky one time.

This kid brought over a bunch of knives for me to sharpen. Most were cheap pakistani things, but in the mix was a big Kershaw Folding Hunter. The big knife with the finger grooves brass bolsters and black handle. Nice knife. Probably cost close to $200 brand new.

This one was ROUGH. Looked like it had been strapped to a stick of dynamite. The blade was severely scratched, and the lock had failed. The kid didn't know what he had, so I offered him $10 bucks and all his knives sharpened for the knife, thinking I could give it some TLC and clean it up myself. He accepted the 10 bucks and the free sharpening, and I had bought myself a once nice knife.

I showed my dad the knife, and explained my intentions of repairing it, and he told me to forget that, and return it to Kershaw and see if I could get another one. I boxed it up and sent it out, and in a few days I had a brand new Folding Hunter.

The knife is so attractive that I'm afraid to use it, so it stays in my gun cabinet.

I had the assist spring on my Leek snap a little while back, and I sent out an e-mail to kershaw telling them what had happened, and asking if they could send out a replacement, and also a replacement pivot for a VaporII at the same time (really worn pivot on the vapor, I don't use it anymore because of that...)

Couple weeks later (international shipping) I get a nice enveloppe full of replacement parts for my leek. Two torsion bars, a couple clip assemblies, some pivots and handle screws, but no replacement pivot for the vapor.

But I was so floored by all the leek goodies that I didn't even bother to send them an e-mail. I'll get around to fixing up the vapor eventually, but for now, I'll let it sit in a drawer.

I posted a similar response in another thread, but I don't think it can be said to many times, so here I go again. In my many years I have had occasion to deal with many customer service departments or you might say customer NO service departments. I always expect them to do the right thing , and most do. Kershaw however not only does what is right, but always ramps it up a notch to exceed my expectations every time. It is no wonder that I will be a Kershaw fan for life. Kudos to all at Kershaw, truly a stand up organization.

I mailed two knives to Oregon, and only requested that one knife be sharpened and the other looekd at. They were both replaced with knives still in their retail packaging.
