The whirlwind is a very good seller, but its not that flashy. The handle is polymide, like the Needs Work, and the blade is 440A, which isn't as sexy as a lot of the new offerings from Kershaw. That's why knives like the Whirlwind and Blackout, which are good sellers, aren't as popular which knife geeks like us
its one of my favorites. its the right size for me, its discreet, light, sharp, and is an assisted opener. its not flashy, but thats why i like it. its simple and basic. i like it so much i want to get a few backups just in case i lose the one i have.
perhaps its time for an updated version of the whirlwind? the whirlwind 2? keep it the same, just give the blade better steel.
