Kershaw ZT Mudd, anyone have experience?

Well the knife came in and its a very impressive knife! It is actually thicker than I expected but thats not a bad thing. My favorite feature is the simple look of the clip and how low it rides in the pocket. As a couple of you have said the G10 is EXTREMELY grippy and when you put this thing in your pocket you almost need 2 hands to get it out. I solved that issue by bending the clip out just a bit. This is the heaviest knife ive ever owned and there is no visible blade play in any direction that I can see. Deffinatley an extremely solid knife =) And... Its officially gained EDC status

Awesome! Time to bury it in a pile of sludge, then chop down some sticks with it :D

Haha dont know about doing it on purpose but give it time and itl happen! Cand anybody explain the inside workings of this lock?

Here is another great video, I'm pretty sure this one is by Gavin Hawk.

Thank you! I had seen the 2nd one before (that was what made me buy the knife!) But the first one is exactly what I was looking for!

So on a dependability scale of 1-10 what does the HAWK lock system get in yalls opinion?

The design of the HAWK lock makes it extremely strong, so I would give it a 8 out of 10 on lock strength and as far as dependability goes I will say 9 out of 10.

I've had three of the 500's and all three came with some slight horizontal bladeplay, I simply tightened the pivot some, as I like a tighter pivot, and that took care of the horizontal play. I still have one of the ZT0500's and it is one of my very favorite edc's!!:thumbup::)
How did you tighten the pivot!?

This is an 11 yr old thread. Cutter17 has not posted here since '14. I searched for a couple of minutes and found an old thread that talks about dismantling/reassembling the MUDD. Unfortunately, the pics no longer exist. But, starting at post # 9, there are some clues about how folks have manipulated the pivot:

Edit to add: Due to the complexity, it may be worthwhile to send the MUDD to ZT for a tuneup?
