The action is good. $130 good. It isn't a flipper but does open smoothly with the fuller. I personally don't have the dexterity to Spydie Flick it, but I bet others can easily. And NON-ASSISTED!Well? How does it feel? Does it feel like a $130 Kershaw? Does it feel closer to a ZT?
Hows the flipping action?
WHY did you use brass hardware on a gray Ti knife KAI?!
Almost picked one of these up, but that is getting REAL close to a WE or something with much better quality.
So, again, does it feel like a Kershaw or a ZT?
I do like the jimping along half the spine.
Kershaw used to be in that price point a long time ago when more of their knives were made in the USA with premium materials. The action is good. $130 good. I am actually excited that Kershaw made these. It is above the price of a USA made Kershaw, but below the price of a ZT. Truly an interesting price point that Kershaw has not really pursued yet at this point.

At this point I almost buy ANY ZT or Kershaw model that’s manual just to try and help sway them away from all these dang SpeedSafe knives. Lots of good knives otherwise ruined with SpeedSafe. The action is good. $130 good. It isn't a flipper but does open smoothly with the fuller. What don’t you like about SpeedSafe? Not trying to argue, genuinely curious. I’ve had pocket knives for as long as I can remember, but I’m just now getting interested in the nicer stuff. I just bought my first two good knives, or what I call good compared to the cheaper stuff I’ve had all these years (Kershaw Blur and Oso Sweet). I thought I’d prefer the finger-flip more, but I’m finding I like the thumb-flipping Blur much more. Of course the Blur was 3x the price, too. What kind of action and/or assist do you prefer? I’m mostly looking for opinions as I start the long and arduous process of scoping out my next acquisition. At this point I almost buy ANY ZT or Kershaw model that’s manual just to try and help sway them away from all these dang SpeedSafe knives. Dangit. Now I’m going to have to buy this thing! Wish they’d have kept the blue hardware or gone all silver. Maybe it’ll be better in person.
How do you like the 0022cu if you don’t mind me asking? My first thought was no way it’s too small but I’m also intrigued. I think it looks really nice.
Flipper frame lock is first choice. Thumbstud frame lock second. All manual. I just like the control of deployment and closing manual provides. I know the assisted spring wears over time and it just gives the knife a ‘gas-station’ feel. Don’t know how else to describe it. Knife companies (mainly KAI) can hide a lack of quality and intention behind a spring because it hides all of the precision required to do a manual detent-folder well. What don’t you like about SpeedSafe? I like it quite a bit. My job limits blades to less than 2.5” so I like to have a good variety of small ones. This one feels really good for the size. I didn’t buy the original 0022 because I don’t like solely carbon fiber scales. I like the copper scale. How do you like the 0022cu if you don’t mind me asking?
