Kershaw/ZT Picture Thread!!! Let's See Em'!

Consistent with my focus on vintage KAI knives, here's a rare Quince wood handled version of the Kershaw Splinter (1460) w/a 2 7/8" AUS-8A blade that I just received from a seller in Japan:

The Splinter pairs well with the Kershaw Nakamura (1480) which also has a Quince wood handle but is also noted for its bolster, which reportedly is made w/10 layers of steel, 5 layers of copper colored copper & 4 layers of brass colored copper fused together by a method called "mokume."

The Nakamura also comes w/a 2 7/8" VG10/420J2 clad blade. So, there's a lot going on w/the Nakamura in a very small package:

I don't buy Tantos because I hate sharpening them, but I may just have to track that one down. What a gorgeous blade.
This one has been reground, but whomever did it did a fantastic job of putting on a nice even high hollow grind. The DLC blade one pictured is how it is ground from the factory. They are one of my favorite ZTs.

If you ever find out who did the regrind, please let me know. I'd love to send my 0630, 0801s and several other ZTs over to get a high hollow grind like that.

Just arrived in time for Thanksgiving is a vintage set of 3 Kershaw Bowie knives (4070, 4071 & 4072) designed by Dan Harrison, which were made between 1992-1996:

According to the following article, the handles are not made of plastic but of laminated hardwood that were hand shaped & finished over the hidden tang. I could not find any specific info on the type of blade steel used, which is only referred to as a tool steel.

See: The Kershaw 4070 Series By Dan Harrison

The style of the handle & the brass bolsters & end caps are similar to those found on the Hattori Hunter fixed blade knife series (1029, 1030, 1031 & 1032, 1034 & 1035) that I also own which were made about 20 yrs earlier. See: Kershaw Hattori Hunter Series.

The blades were in good shape but the bolsters were badly tarnished with some corrosion due to being stored in their sheaths but some Brasso & light buffing w/a cotton wheel restored their luster. I also treated the entirety of each knife /w/a light coating of Renaissance wax to help protect them.

This is a matched set that is very lightly engraved with the number 0123, on the back side of each the blades, which is hard to see w/o close examination.

These knives originally came in a cheap vinyl presentation case, which is missing from this set, but those types of cases did not wear well & most that I've seen were falling apart. So, I don't mind not having the case but I've still got to figure out the best way to store them.

Couldn't resist picking up an 0620 last week (previous owner even put a Monster disk on it). I blame you norcalAF norcalAF . ;) Great looking, handling, feeling folder (even though I don't like Tanto blades). Makes a great companion to my 0630.

Excellent snag! I'll take full responsibility! They get so smooth once they wear in the washers just a tad.

This rare Kershaw 1056 arrived in the mail from Canada yesterday:

It's a smaller variation of the Kershaw 1050 Field Folder designed by Ichiro Hattori as an adjunct to the Kershaw fixed blade Hunter series.

You can see the 1050 & 1056 compared in the photo below:

There is one other smaller variation of the 1050 that I'd like to find. It's the clip point 1055 that's even rarer & harder to find than the 1056.

This is a stock picture of it:

If anyone has a lead to one, please let me know by DM. Thanks!
