Hello, my name is upchuck... and I'm addicted to Kershaws.

It all started innocently enough, I had forgotten my Benchmade Mini Grip at home on a trip out of town. I felt naked without my EDC. I happened upon a WalMart and thought that I could pick up a Buck or Gerber to tide me over and fill that gaping void in my pocket. I went to the counter and there it was, calling my name. It looked very familiar but I couldn't quite place it. Then it dawned on me, I have read about it before on the USN forums. The temptation was too great. I asked to see it and the clerk handed it to me. I flipped it open and "SNAP!", SOLD! The Zing. I've never had any experience with Kershaw before and this first impression was, uh, impressive! Wonderful design, smooth, felt good in the hand, fast for a non-AO, and loved the grooves. It was going to the top of my EDC rotation.

After getting home, I visited my local Walmart. W0000T!!! They had Kershaws too! So I bought the Scallion (1620H3) in a slick all black. Another Kershaw in my EDC roation and yet another high quality fast opening knife. And the price couldn't be any more right. Went home and then online, came here to research more Kershaws, and before I new it, I ordered the Lahar for $60. When I received the Lahar, I tore the packaging open and held the knife. "Whoa!" The weight was the first thing I noticed followed by the fit and finish - very high quality. Then I flipped it, "SNAP!!!". VG-10, beautiful blade shape, G-10 scales, smooth as butter, tank-like solidity, locked up tight, sharp as hell (yeah I cut myself :o ). I thought to myself "60 bucks, are you kidding me!?!?" Should have cost twice that! But no complaint here. I'm a Kershaw lifer now.

So now I'm scouring the Walmarts within a 50 mi radius to find the OD-1, Skyline, Barrage, Storm, Blur and NRG. I must admit, it is fun hunting them down. It's an adventure like I haven't felt since I was a kid. They will be mine! Outcast, ZT0100, ZT0200, ZT0300 and ZT0350 too!

So, I need to ask of all of you, is there a cure or do I just need to let it run its coarse? Though, I'm not sure why I ask.

welcoem to the kershaw family, i am sure that your new knives will give you much love and great use, i know my short time in the family has been wonderful.

Welcome aboard, UpChUcK!

There is no known cure for a Kershaw addiction, but there is a treatment. You must 'treat' yourself to a new Kershaw, once a month at the very least. Also, please understand that some people may require bi-weekly or even weekly treatment to keep the addiction at bay.

Enjoy your knives! :D

Oh man, it's reaching epidemic proportions!!!:D

Just get used to it Chuck, and welcome:thumbup:

Chuck whatever you do DON'T look at the R.A.M., or a Schallot in S110v steel, or a Composite Jyd, or .................... (Actually do check out the R.A.M. its the king of the flippers imo.)
Oh heck the more you look at Kershaws the more you'll want to buy them.
Oh yeah stay away from the ZT knives also. You'll never be the same again !!
It's an addiction alright.
The only cure is a good dose of Kershaw metal.

What's UpChUck! Welcome to the padded room Thomas provides for us. You might as well give up now. They put drugs in the boxes, and once you handle one, you'll want them all.

Stick around and have some fun!

Obligatory Kershaw recommendation: Check out the Mini Mojito!

Definitely pick up a RAM, you won't regret it, I also noticed that the ZT0500 was missing from your list :D

Hi my name is Robert,

I remember my first Kershaw. Her name was Blur. It started out innocently enough and I can assure you that my intentions were pure. But as I removed her from the box (I remember there was soft music in the background and maybe some wine). The way she looked with that sexy body and blade that snapped to attention on demand. I can still smell the WD-40. As for weather I sniffed the box or not is a private matter. The rest of the night is a Blur. We are still together, Blur and I.

This man should be writing romance novels!
