Alright. I no that this question has to do with opinion's. But I love the speedsafe with kershaws. I've recently been looking at the starter and the lifter both blackwashed I was wondering which one you guys think is better. Also if there are any other kershaws you'd like to recommend that would be great. PS I already own a couple leeks

I just recently made a topic along these lines, but I would avoid the models you listed. They use 3CR blade steel and polymer bushings, and you can get one of the much superior 8CR models for about the same cost.

I would go with the starter between the two. Have you looked at the USA made kershaws like the skyline? The skyline is a manual knife though. If you want speedsafe knives look at the cryo series the cryo 1 is really small even for my sized small hands, i barely get my hand on the scales completely. Now the cryo 2 is better because you get more purchase on the handle. Another chinese made speedsafe would be the clash nice knife that can be had for around $20. If you prefer thumb studs over flippers you can look at the Blur models that start in the $50 range. However if you prefer a flipper Kershaw will be coming out with a flipper version similar to the blur in the $100 range, i forget the name but im sure someone else will chime in. I had one more knife in mind but it slipped my mind, i stood up all night helping my dad fix his brakes and change a couple poped tires so i need to hit the hay soon. Others will chime in and inform you of other kershaw knives, but those are some knives i thought i should give you a mention of. I own the cryo 1, blur, skyline; the blur and skyline are awesome, and the cryo 1 is ok due to the size issue. Ive played with the cryo 2 and clash alot at my old job, nice budget knives. One side note, if you are a person that worries ahout the weight of a knife, you will most likely not like the cryos.

Edited to add: when i said i would go with the starter it was purely based on my blade shape preference. I havent looked at the actual specs of them, but after hearing 3CR i wouldnt get either.

The Lifter and Starter are both in 3Cr13MoV which is not the greatest steel, and they're fairly heavy to boot. There are many Kershaws that are lighter and in 8Cr13MoV like the Clash, Oso Sweet, and Compound(to name but 3) for around the same price range.

The only difference between the cryo 1 and 2 is blade length, so whatever your preference is

I don't usually care for assisted knives but I do like my Knockout. Great size and all around shape and plenty light. The opening is quick enough (not faster than manuals though;)) and it is easy to close for a Speedsafe knife. A little pricier than what you're looking at but it is a great USA made Kershaw.

For me, it's made in the USA knives....so any of the us made kershaws, and I also like the speedsafe

If you like the Speedsafe mechanism, check out the Blur. Of all the assisted-openers I've handled, the implementation of it on the Blur still feels the best. It is available in Blackwash w/ Elmax steel as well. The Cryo and Cryo 2 are other great designs that have SpeedSafe and are available in Blackwash. If you like the Hinderer designs, the ZT 0566BW is also another great knife with a/o and Blackwash.

To your "real", first question...the " Lifter". I thought the shape was vaguely familiar so I plundered around until I saw a knife called a "ZT 0400". Shoot yeah, I want one of those myself! "Made in China"? Whoopee! Type of steel a problem? Nope! Look, it's a Kai design, either you like 'em or not! Me...I don't like (maybe another time).

I am looking at the engraved ones on amazon. I like the lone wolf one. Is there anyway someone could look up to see if that one is authentic

The 1556TBW is a real model of knife from kershaw. The selling company NDZ Performance does not appear to be an authorized kershaw dealer, but looking at their website it looks like the just do laser engravings on various items. They probably buy the kershaws at wholesale, engrave them, and sell them at a profit. I dont know why someone would make fake cryos as it is already made in china and is very affordable.

Do you think that would be to much money to pay

Support a us company whos kinves are made in china.....not me.

Haters gonna hate

Many kershaws are made in the USA fwiw. Typically their budget line is not. However, in my experience they have still been great bargains for the price. Also, they still get the same warranty and support of the US made ones.

I try to buy made in the U.S.A.products when possible, IMHO there are many great knife companies making knives in the U.S.A., lie Emerson so why by stuff made off shore.

Unless you're giving me money to spend, don't tell me how or where to spend my money!
