Kershaws.

lie Emerson so why by stuff made off shore.

Because a knife made off shore(like Kershaw's Emerson collabs) costs like $35 and one of those made in the USA Emersons you mention costs like $200? For some people that's about 165 reasons why right there.

Gee, so many to choose from. How about the Thermite for some spanto goodness?

Personally I'm waiting to get my hands on the Strobe as I'm not a huge fan of assisted opening. Don't like the idea of my Kershaw accidentally deploying in my pocket (although I know this rarely happens). Also torsion bars break eventually, don't they?

Thermite is an excellent knife. And yes, torsion bars have been known to bust. I believe KAI stated that their torsion bars are tested for up to 10,000 openings. Some bust after a little use, some keep on trucking for years, literally. The best part is that KAI will send you replacements, absolutely free

As for the Strobe, I own one and will back it up. It's a nice knife for around $35. Great blade shape and ergonomics, plus KVT bearings! It really is a sweet piece.

If you're still looking, I'd heavily recommend the Zing SS. It's like a Cryo, but lighter and with a longer blade. Not sure why it doesn't get as much love as the Cryo.

Honestly, it's probably just because the Cryo is a Hinderer design. I love his stuff, but agree that the Zing has always been a nice knife.
