ketshaw lifter lifted its design?

I just ordered one off ebay, for 19.90 shipped. I figured what the heck, it's worth that to see what he's bitching about!

Who's bitching:confused: someone stated what op was talking about perfectly a few posts ago. As far as I know, OP wasn't talking about a specific model or company for that matter.

Far as I know I still don't know what the op was talking about, translation or not.

This thread rocks.

And this thread is about bitching. OP said that bitching about copying a design is off limits - so, Jill, if you are getting the knife to see what he is bitching about - he doesn't want you talking about it!

It's less than 20 bucks made in China. Amusingly enough, you can get them from dealers for less than 20, off eBay for the same, yet people are bidding on one there @ 29.00 dollars, with over 2 days left. It's also following Kershaw's trend of having a 3 and 1/4" blade, with about 8" overall. Too small IMO for that type knife.

I think that Kershaw/ZT should expand on their blade size range - they make awesome stuff, but their range of blade size is somewhat "limited", in that they rarely make anything above 3.5". I'm only aware of one Kershaw folder that is above 3.5" -- that is the Kershaw Tremor at 3.75". I'd really like it if they upped the common range to 4" - 4.5", and occasionally released something at 5".

I understand everything that he said. I'll paraphrase:

Kershaw stole a knife design and all the time he sees people saying that a Kershaw design has been stolen. So there. You can't steal a knife design because they have been around forever. Stop ruining reputations with this nonsense.

He likes like this place so let's talk about everything about knives except for when someone copies someone else.

Did Kershaw steal a design? The OP didn't provide any proof. We also don't know who designed the Lifter for Kershaw. The Schrade I mentioned really doesn't look much like the Lifter except for some of the handle.

Surely the OP's point is that design theft is impossible, since everything has already been done. He is living in a post modern paradise, & rocks.
KAI has never been robbed, & has never robbed.
This thread is a disrobe.

I would order one but it has 3cr13... So I don't know. I have never owned that steel before and not sure about edge retention.

If you look up the original thread about the Starter series, it's discussed. Accoding to Thomas on the Gear Geeks Live Podcast, they haven't really seen much of a difference among the Chinese alphabet steels. There's a difference but it's not as huge as you might think.
