The R1 is a collaboration between Kevin Foster of Foster So Cal Knife Shop and Recon 1. As I understand it, Kevin had input from Lee Williams and Tom Mayo when designing this knife, and it shows. It's a great flipper with a beautifully finished blade. The Timascus clip is perfectly shaped and tensioned with wonderful colors. This is #4 and is marked as such on the inside of the frame. It just came back from Kevin who was kind enough to clean and tune it up for me.

There is an extremely small nick at the top of the blade, near the pivot (see the last picture). Otherwise this knife is perfect. The streaks on the blade in the second picture are camera artifacts – the satin is not scratched. The blade is centered but the grind is slightly asymmetrical, which makes it look off-center. It does not touch the frame on either side.

The listed price includes UPS 2nd Day Air shipping within the CONUS. It does not include insurance or shipping to Alaska or Hawaii. I will ship internationally provided you pay for shipping and assume all responsibility for the package once it leaves the US.
