Kevin, respond please...

Don.

the golden rule " Do to others as you would do to yourself" or "Love thy Neighbor as you love yourself"

I personally think that you are a wealth of information and more often than not have made contributions to this forum. That said, and I do not mean this as an insult but as a teaching moment,( from a guy who has learned most lessons the hard way) When you have someone disagree with you, you get insulting and mean. I do not know if this goes beyond BFC but I would tender a guess that it does. Some advice from a guy who is abrasive, loud mouthed, and has had his share of problems relating to people. ( talking about me here :D). You need to train yourself to 1.) let stuff go...its the internet for cripes sake one power grid failure and its all gone 2) Learn to agree to disagree 3) learn that arguing with people on the interwebz thingy is useless and in the long run it just ruins your day and makes your BP go up. and finally 4) advice WE ALL can practice and it is easier to give than follow and I have been guilty of not following this. Learn to treat people better.

Now I know you do not owe me any favors but Ill ask you out of a spirit of friendship...could you chill out now?:D

Thanks

RTDTB

Mods specifically Bastid,

Just out of curiousity I read through the thread in question concerning Don Rearic, I am sure he doesn't need me to defend him, don't even know him but it is quite apparent if you read through the thread that Don was actually taking part and adding to the discussion pertaining to knife law in NYC. It was very positive and informative until Rich came in and made it about His beloved city and that crime and criminality in NYC is the exception and not the rule. That if you merely carry yourself in a confident manner then you'll be left alone. etc etc. IMHO Rich wanted to dish it out but not take it. Also there seemed to be some piling on when I don't see how the mods could have read the relevant thread and still had their opinion. Minds were made up based on past posts seems to me?

Just my 2 cents but I'd rather have some lively debate and back and forth. I'd rather Don remain.

How does one Troll if they are there posting prior to someone else and merely reacting to foolishness?

Sal.

As this is in an open place, I will say that I appreciate Don's insight here. I appreciate the roll the mods play. I would not want either job, and they are both time intensive contributions.

This time of year is MY personal crabby and uptight time of year. I have a shorter fuse and diminished patience. Spring in nigh on the horizon, let's all just bar-b-q and wallow in the slush a bit.

My best to All Of You Fine Folks.

Mark

Sal,

Don has three pages of infractions given by many mods and the owner of BFC.

He ignores our rules constantly.

Don does add valuable info here. He also enjoys trolling here at times. Those are facts. Even if he can not see them himself.

He is constantly crossing the clear rules we have established here. He has been repeatedly warned and infracted here. He ignores the warnings and infractions. Those are the actions of a troll in any reasonable person's book. His posts are constantly and often reported on by other members and that is also a fact. I would bet that in reported posts alone he ranks in the top 10 of all time at BFC and I am not a betting person. We have a forum here for letting off steam and poking at some of the things that get posted. If he would keep his antagonism there it would be no problem. He does not do that and is a very high maintenance member here. (Again those are the traits of a troll.)

Now a question in turn.
What would you call an adult who has been asked to behave, quit picking on kids, stop derailing threads as well as stop insulting people by 7 moderators here as he has constantly done over the years?

hi folks -

I find this interesting because I had a similar situation on one of my boards, specifically a member that had a lot to offer and was 65% a very good contributing member, but the remaining percentage was a disagreeable SOB with a huge ego and a conspiracy complex (not that this Don fellow has this - just relating my issue).

Initially, as the admin, I was on the side of turning the other cheek and allowing the somewhat abrasive member to remain. That decision wound up biting me in the buttocks and I later had to ban the member.

It was not an easy decision to make as we always want our members to remain, but if they just don't get it, all you are doing is wasting everyone's time.

Some people just cannot play in the sandbox, and that is not the societies fault, it is just the way it is.

If members could just remember to not sweat the small stuff, what an easy job moderating would be.

best regards -

I'd just like to say that I've learned a lot from reading Don Rearic's posts, perhaps more than any other member here. Don Rearic is definitely one of the more knowledgeable people on the site.

That's quite the appropriate endorsement.
