key ring knife

best keychain knife I ever had - one of Doggett's keychain companions....stopped making those, but he still makes these:

Another vote for David Winston and his "keys". A great package, and top notch work, for a very fair price.

I used to carry a Sebertech M4 on my keychain. Blade is inconvenient to open but as an 'in a pinch' tool of all trades it has been a very useful. I don't carry it on a keychain anymore. I am doing some early development work on a pocket carry system. I may be looking for beta testers soon. Stay tuned

Try Peter Atwood. Not only does he make the Prybaby, he's also making some small keychain knives now. Here's his website, take a look at his Atwood TT.

How well does it open bottles?

On my dungeon master keychain, I put a Gerber Shortcut that I just got in trade from Ryan Malpeide. Save my Squirt for my pocket.

A lond time ago I ordered a Gerber MicroLST by mistake, its about 2" long (closed) and weighs virtually nothing, so i stuck it on my keyring. Its kept its edge nicely, and has come in real hand for all sorts of little jobs I didn't intend it for :)

Gerber MicroLST

But I guess a good recommendation for keychain tool would be what you would expect to do with it?

A Spyderco ladybug is a tough little knife. It cuts like crazy and dosn't scare people. If anything they are intriqued by it and want to see it and handle it. Many don't believe it is a real Spyderco.

another vote for dogget's( ie) dogman keychain companion.glad I bought two a few years back.

I used to keep a Spyderco Jester in my keychain and it was great, before that it was the Gerber Microlight Lst but I much prefer the Jester, haven't carried a knife in my keychain for a long while though.

I'll second the small SAK. I've got a Signature Lite on the way, to replace (or along with) an old SAK with blade, file and screwdriver/wires stripper/cap lifter. I like the Signature Lite because of the addition of the scissors.

The little Sebertech M4 looks kinda nifty too, I was about to order one lastnight, but decided to hold off. My old, original Leatherman, while lacking a saw, has been a trusty friend for a good many years, so I'll keep it for now.

I'll have to add one to the Leatherman Squirt. Nice size and exeptionally useful. I use mine everyday. Cutting power is crappy, but will do if you have nothing else - I use my EDC for cutting anyhow.

well, for a multi tool with scisors, leatherman micra, (or maybe a minichamp, looks interesting but never used one), for a single blade, Spyderco Jester all the way, it is more ergonomic than the ladybug and the size difference is minimal (ladybug being slightly smaller). For pliers the serber tool, it also has the best screw drivers. My only problem, I carried one of the knifeless versions for a while (for school...no blades) and it got loose and wouldnt stay on.

Lately I've had a 58mm alox Victorinox Classic. Just a little thinner than the plastic handled models.

I carry a spyderco dragonfly with on-scene keyfob.
you can give it a quick jank & have the little razor sharp knife in action, & when not in use, not have to worry about it opening other knives with the blade pivot oposite the lanyard hole.

I have had a little buck as well as a ladybug open in my pocket.
