anyone use one and have a recommendation?....i was thinking maybe ladybug, but open to options

I got a sweet deal on this one at Cabelas. On sale for $12.Nice & sharp, discreet,& easy to sharpen.

Not solely a knife...how 'bout a SAK or mini-tool such as a LM Micra? I have carried the LM for years, essentially for the scissors, but a backup blade is always good, too. More tools, the better, etc.

I do keep a small Razor Super knife on my keychain, very lightweight, very sharp, and when it gets dull I just change the blade. You can see the size in the pic, it is sitting on a full sized Husky Super Knife. A Leatherman Squirt is always in my watch pocket btw...

I agree, a SAK or a LM micra/squirt would be much better unless this would actually be your primary blade (which I doubt). If so, the ladybug or the dragonfly would be good choices. I personally have a Squirt that recently replaced my SAK midnight manager. The spring loaded pliers are great.

Another choice may be the new CLB Keycom from Boker. I saw one at the SHOT show and it is a nice little unit. They should be available to the public shortly.

I actually carry a small FB on my keychain. Depending on which keys I have, I have a HAK on one, a Nemesis Hellion on another, & an unknown maker Ti tanto knife on the the 3rd set of keys that I'd use on any given day.

The HAK's probably the best, because its 2-finger hole can be used as a "handle" to carry ones keys & no one really notices what it is.

Are you planning to use this as you primary knife?

I have three sets of keys on me pretty much all the time.
LM Micra on one set, Vic Classic on another. Flashlight on the third.

But I also always have an EDC, even if it is a Ladybug loose in my pocket. I find that trying to do much cutting with a knife attached to keys is awkward. The keys get in the way.

no just need something small for opening packages, cleaning fingernails, cutting string.....small(sheeple friendly) jobs where 4in is too much

Yup, usually right around there. Costco has a set of both the plier and scissor models for 40 which is a good deal. Gave the scissor one to my mom and she loves it. As I'm writing this, I forgot to get a pink delica in time for her for Mother's day.

Seems like you're describing a job for an SAK (the Victorinox Classic or Mini Champ would do well)
