Just curious if anyone else keeps a knife on their keychain.

I am considering to get one for a long time - one excuse would be to make it easier to recognise my keys from my wife's. But I have yet to find a classical folder this small (even among non-classical knives there is not much to choose from). And for some reason I do not want to get a miniature SAK ...

Here's mine it's been on my keys for about two years .it was engraved but you can barely see it now.

Here are a few of mine from a similar keychain knife discussion a couple months ago. I prefer to use a keychain sheath and/or a carabiner so the knife can be removed and used separate from the keychain.

Here are a couple comparison photos of the Leather & Synthetic Victorinox keychain sheaths and also a similar keychain sheath from Opinel.

The problem with the synthetic sheath is that the material is thin and it breaks. The leather is much thicker and durable.

I think this Opinel sheath is pretty cool also but the ring is not the best so I usually replace it with a stronger ring.

Tiny Opinel - now that is a cool idea. Is the size 4 small enough carry on keyring, but still usable size?

It's pretty small for regular use but it's capable of small jobs in a pinch. I typically carry the Victorinox Rambler or Classic instead. The blade on the 58mm Swiss army knives is even smaller but I like having the extra tools and I usually have a larger knife in my pocket.

I do not actually keep a pocket knife on my keychain. Though I do have and carry several keychain-type knives.

Victorinox Red Cellidor Classic SD - carried every day but it is packed in a mini-first aid kit I keep in my bag.
Victorinox Alox Mini Champ - Loose in my left front pocket

I also have a small modern keychain knife which I keep a small flashlight attached to. That used to ride in my pocket all the time but recently has been moved to the bag just to reduce pocket clutter.

My wife keeps a Victorinox Rambler that I gave her on her keychain.

For about 20 years, the Victorinox classic has been a mainstay on my keyring. Made a leather pouch sheath for more convenient use. But over the past several months, the Leatherman Micra has been replacing it as a daily keyring tool. I figure Ihave a dedicated pocket knife fro cutting, so the keychain is for a bit more tool versatility. But I still love the little SAK's for a minimalist keychain item.

I love Leatherman products I keep a Wave in my car at all times.

I keep a tiny fixed blade, the Boker Toucan, and a Leatherman Ps4 Squirt. Use both on a pretty regular basis.

I've had a little Victorinox Rambler on my key chain for several years now and I use it all the time. Great little knife.

I've carried a Vic Classic on my key ring for years. I seldom use the blade on it, but I use pretty much everything else on a reasonably regular basis.

I have a tiny and unexpensive True Utility combo (much inspired by the Kutmaster/Caterpillar), at least until my Grandson give me back the Micra he "borrowed" :D that usually takes that place.
The Micra is the multi I use the most.

This is why we need more small traditionals to have a bail or keychain attachment. Used to be when I was a kid, there was no shortage of dime store small one and two blade jacks with bails on them. Usually sold up by the cash register on a cardboard display so you could grab one as you pay and leave the store. Most had the cracked ice celluloid scales, but some had the one piece folded sheet metal handle that were made by a nail clipper company.

Times has changed!

Man what a true statement.

Jackknife nailed it! My wife has a Vic classic on her keys and I have a ladybug but I would love a small traditional knife to add to my keys without having to use a pouch like the ones pictured above. Maybe we should direct our favorite companies to this thread:)

I normally do not carry a knife on my keychain, however, there was the period of about a week where I only carried one key. So, I did what had to be done. I made my knife the keychain. [emoji12]
