Keychain Knives

The Vic I actually carry and a couple that missed the first sweep.

Whether they are key chain knives or not, please only post traditional knives in the Traditional Forum.

People should carry which ever one works best for them but the one thing I'll add is that I've found for me the best place for a key chain knife/tool is in my pocket. Just hate having heavy keys and hate having keys flopping around like a shackle when using the tool.

It's pretty small for regular use but it's capable of small jobs in a pinch. I typically carry the Victorinox Rambler or Classic instead. The blade on the 58mm Swiss army knives is even smaller but I like having the extra tools and I usually have a larger knife in my pocket.

Is that Opinel sheath capable of holding a keychain-sized SAK instead?

I hadn't tried it previously. A 58mm Victorinox Classic will fit.... it's shorter so it sorta gets buried but you can push it up from the bottom to remove the knife. It's not as tight fitting as the Victorinox sheath but it might not fall out.

Thanks. Looks like I should find another option.

My wife and I keep a Victorinox Classic on our key rings. I use mine constantly and would not be without it. The toothpick comes in handy often as does the tweezers. The scissors get used a bunch as well. I have two grandsons, one 3 and the other 6. When you go to a restaurant they have a tendency to tip over their drinks to reach the end of their straw which causes them to spill. I have been cutting straws shorter since my two kids were little. Easier for them to handle and not spill so much. The little one doesn't like strings on his clothes so I have to trim off any hanging strings and both of them come to me to clean their finger nails. Also used the little tweezers to get a splinter out of the big boy's finger.

Handy little knife.

I have had a SAK Classic on my keys for 15 years. I do miss the little guys from my childhood...I've found a few, great gifts.

Very nice knives thanks for posting the pictures

Thanks. These knives still remain a mystery to me. Besides the Utica ad knife and the smaller Solingen, The others have no marks on them whatsoever. My best guess is early Colonial and Imperial. there are subtle differences in them that indicates different manufacturers like swedges, bails and some have half stops and some don't. I have one on my keys and the celluloid wears very well.

heres the one on my keys....

I have carried a few of these at times on my keys, but generally I do not at all, as I visit a lot of places with metal detectors and guards, so I would constantly be taking the knives off.

Still, they nice little pieces to own.

I had a black Wenger on my key chain, not sure of its name. I thought I lost it, and recently replaced it with this Mini Champ. I've since found it, and glad too as it has a configuration not to be found in any SAK.

Wow Glenn !! Great collection I have a miniature souvenir knife like the one in the middle left over from my childhood. My grandfather always bought me one when he traveled. I have no idea what happened to the rest of them. Thanks for the pictures.
