Keychain lights that take "Rat" abuse and keep ticking?

Ok, the disease is spreading.... :D

I now have a couple E01's in Olive green. Seem like a really well built light. I love the construction, very solid. Like the on off, the knurling is great...really a super little package. If you compare it to the ATI....well, they are both flashlights, both well made, both small....that's about the end of it. Price was $3.50 less for the EO1, but the light given off is not in the same Galaxy. That ATI is unbelievable! That being said, I knew what to expect with the EO1, and still really like it. I think if I never had the ATI, I would never have felt like I had an inferrior tool. I was looking for a keychain light, and it will be great for that. The ATI just happens to be a 4D maglight in a tiny package.

I also got some little Lighthound $1 lights that are about as bright as the E01, just a concentrated beam. A good value for a $1.

Next is the Princeton EOS headlamp. Another great little tool that I will find lots of uses for around the ranch!

Thanks for all your help folks, you have been a wealth of information.

Who makes the ATi? I'm not familiar with it. Got a link?

Thanks!

Also, I'm wondering about that Maratac AAA...Thinking of getting one for my keychain to replace my Photon.

How bright is that nano by comparison. I looked long at them, but did not buy them or the photos due to the little batteries.

It is not ATI...I'm a retard. ITP A3 EOS. I got mine at KSF. I had ATI on my mind for other reasons.

Agent Iron, the add says (10 lumens) It is surprisingly bright for such a small flashlight.

Thanks for clarifying guys. BTW, I can't remember if it's been mentioned in this thread yet or not but another AAA option is 4Seven's new Preon light system. They have a kit option which is 1 head with the new Cree XP-G R5 emitters, 2 bodies (1 AAA - 70 lm max, and 2 AAA - 160lm max) and 2 tailcaps (twisty or clicky), so you can configure it however you prefer. I prefer clicky lights.

I do not think many of the lights mentioned can take "rat" abuse

I will pass on the latest gizmo lights that run great on nimh or li-ion batteries but run poorly on alkalines.

I don't know about that. The Maratacs after all, were made for military/LEO if I'm not mistaken. Nimh and LiIon offer you the option of optimized performance over regular alkalines.
Just go for a light in the traditional battery formats - AA, AAA, C, D. You can get most of not all of those in regular alkaline, Lithium or rechargeable NiMh so that'll give you the ultimate in versatility.

I disagree.

The Arc-AAA was mentioned - it can stand up to heavy abuse and has almost a 10 year track record of being THE reliable tank AAA. Over the years it has remained the exact same design except just the LED being upgraded three times as technology progresses..

Might not have great output or multiple levels, but its a classic solid performer and in my opinion is deserving of its price tag.

I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to but the E01 runs fine on any AAA whether rechargeable, lithium or alkaline. I don't necessarily abuse it but it does spend all day being tumbled in my pocket with keys. I'm positive there are better lights out there even in the same category but for $15 it's a great asset to my EDC.

Got the iTP EOS and Fenix L0D. Both have served me well, but would rather choose the iTP because it doesn't have all the blinking modes.

I think the E01 will take just about anything you might ask it to. I keep one in my kit. Short of going out of your way to destroy it I don't think you will ever have a problem. Just check the Battery for corrosion once in a wile. As you should with any peace of gear.
The LOD is good also I have not tried the ITP yet. Look at the Quark mini AA. It's a little bigger but IMHO not to big.

I also have both of those - either is excellent IMO. I currently have a Liteflux LF2XT on my keyring though.
