did you buy it with the standard SET PRO controller or a RAMPMASTER II controller?

Been thinking about getting one for my garage too ! Going over to the parental units house to use my Evenheat KF 27 in 240 volt is sometimes a pain in the arse !

Pretty simple and straight forward. You plug it in, turn it on, and it will say something like ERR P, then you hit the bottom on the left START/STOP Button at which point it will read the oven's temperature at room temperature. You hit it again and it will display how many segments it's set to. Can't remember what it comes with from the factory...probably one, either way, you can change that with the up and down buttons. Segments meaning (incase you don't know) where you want the kiln to preheat at and for how long. It will display the first number after the segment number will be the temperature to ramp to and then you hit the start/stop button again, and then it will ask for how long of a soak time which again you use the up/down keys. getting to the preheat, it will ask how fast you want the kiln to ramp up to temperature and i believe it's in temperatures per hour, i think it's like 9999 or something you set it to should you want it to just MOVE it along as fast as possible !

Don't think for even a minute you're gonna be tempering the first time in the kiln :) it won't cool down anywhere near fast enough to do so and since it's cooling down extremely slowly the trying to temper in it will not be accurate. Do your snap temper in a kitchen oven or something, wait till the next day to do it with the kiln starting at room temperature. (i'm sure you already know all this !)

It's very easy and straight forward. You can even add time and temperature during a soak/segment. I can't seem to remember how to do it though. It will come with a page or two of directions.

Try your best after you take the knives out of the oven, to let it cool to room temperature with the door closed. don't want any of the kiln bricks to pop off ! (ask me how i know this? lol)

Apparently I can't read. I thought you typed KH 18. ! now i see it's just like mine cept shorter ! HA! I guess it will be there in a week then ! as they keep them in stock.

V6, are you looking for instructions on how to program the oven or on how to HT the steels?

Rob!

(lots of time for questions)
