Curses!!!! Sorry for the old Star Trek reference but I had a 9 1/4 inch Moran ST 24 style blade made from 450 layer ladder damascus that came out of the quench just right. I was carrying it to the oven for first temper a bit later and dropped it on the concrete. Of course, it hit tip first and snapped off about 1/2 inch!!!!! AAARRRRGGHHH!!!!! So I guess this will be a slightly modified 8 1/2 inch ST 24 style knife now

It can be salvaged without doing the "what once was a bowie is now a neck knife" thing like we all have done at some point, but I am going to have to use a different piece of stag.

About the same odds as "jelly side down". The good news is that I managed to salvage it as 8 3/4 inches. :thumbup:
