I was reading through the "Gun and Kuk" picture thread and realized that we havent done this in a couple of months. So I figured what the heck?

Well, for me it is a Villager BAS with all steel fittings. (Need to find my camera.)
The other neat toys at hand are my Glock 20 and my Romanian SKS. Just in case my "boomerang knives" don't have the reach I wish they did. Perhaps I should invest in a 30" Sirupati?
Or maybe, just maybe a Tarwar? Been wanting one of those for years...hmmm.:D

Sleeping on the futon, I don't really have anything close at hand. But Buddy the Wonderdog's mission is to hold off intruders long enough for me to cross the room where my SW 640 and Katana are stashed. I'd really like a Glock though... but not this summer.

BTW... Dave, do you still have Ashley? If so, rub her down for me :D

Let's see ..

Well, for me it is a Villager BAS with all steel fittings.
I don't have a bed! Anyhow the most reachable Khuks at the place where I always sleep at night are 18" and 25" lightweight Sirupatis made by Bura the Royal Kami :)

The other neat toys at hand are my Glock 20 and my Romanian SKS.
I dont have a glock but I have a 19 1/2" golok (i.e. made by local bladesmith) which is always laying beside those two Sirupatis :D

This is what I mean by golok (notes: Image from vikingsword):

dutch klewang by the bed in the space between the bed and the night stand, coupla bowies, seax on the night stand, a few swords on the wall plus the khuks to hand as soon as i get out of bed. would like to have a glock, but only police and criminals are allowed to defend themselves with firearms here, so i also make do with a golok or two nearby...on the other nightstand.

There is a 18" Ganga Ram, a Ranger RD6 and sometimes a balisong next to my bed, but that's only because I really need to clean my room.

6 inch fixed blade of my own design
7 inch double edged pig sticker
on the night stand along with;
LED flashlight and a 4 D cell Maglite

Beside the bed 12 gauge Remington repeater

Under the bed: Several older hunters including Old timer Shrade Deer slayer, a Brazilian stilletto and a baseball bat, including a 1 1/4 inch wrench

I keep the Samsher that Dick Singer gave me on my nightstand usually. Right now the house is on the market, and I've got all that stuff stashed.

15" Shop 1 BAS on the night stand, Mini 14 in the closet, and a Turk Mauser on standby with some stripper clips ready to go. That would cover short, medium, and long range!

The 25 Siru is back up in the closet also, and 16.5 Chiruwa AK is in the back of the van, and a 12" villager AK in the trunk of the sedan.

Take care,

Tom

Love the warclub...looks Cherokee in design.

Yup, read once long ago from a good source that the Cherokee favored the Tomahawk/Warclub over all other weapons when the Red Hatchet was dug up meaning that the Old Warriors were going on the Red Path.

A modified sjambok and an Everest Katana are about equidistant from my bed. Just a little further lie my 15" Ang Khola, 25" Kumar Kobra, and a Tora Dui Chirra. A little further from my bed is the Sgt. Khadka Samsher and a Valiant Trading Company SGL.

Been doing some thinking... and although I have a bunch of toys I have been thinking that it would be good to do some "shopping" before the next presidential election.

It is just a gut feeling, but past experience leads me to believe my gut knows best (perhaps thats why it grows a little bit every year).

I am thinking about starting to stock up on high capacity thingies and other not so "politically correct" doodads. Anyways, tomorrow I plan on finally placing a AK-47 varient on lay away. I have my ar-15 lower built, but I have a feeling that the AK will be hit the hardest cause of the current political climate.

And BTW, I NEED A GOLOK! Those are freaking cool!

At the moment I have an 18" m43 by the bedside. I have others placed at key points in the house.

Dave, I'm with you. I love those goloks.

Samurai Dave, your proposed "shopping" shows excellent planning. I would strongly advise everyone else to do the same. Balance what you really want with what is most likely to be restricted or outright banned, and then establish your shopping priorities based on a careful analysis of what is most threatened. For example, if you really want a fine Smith & Wesson revolver and a good military style semi-automatic rifle it should be obvious which of those is most likely to become an "endangered species" first. Also, consider that the primary advantage of any self-loading weapon is quick reloads using detachable magazines that are already filled ahead of time. The first of those to be banned (AGAIN) will probably be mags holding over 10 rounds. Carefully consider what will be most important to both your enjoyment and your safety over the next seveal decades and choose your magazines accordingly. Whatever you don't use will only become more valuable as time passes if you take good care of them.

If you can and want to buy your ammunition by the case, you may want to do that over the next year or so, too. (You know you can order it online or by phone and have it shipped right to your door here in the US, don't you?)

If you are on a tight budget, remember that a nice revolver and some speedloaders are a good solution that doesn't require magazines, and an SKS carbine in its standard configuration is, too, since it is fed by 10-round stripper clips that are simple, durable, compact, cheap (at the moment), and readily available (at the moment). Stripper clips have some obvious advantages over box magazines, so stock up on them now for whatever weapons you own (or plan to own) that use them.

My seax and my vicious moggy of d00m! and maybe the girlfriend if she isn't working :P (she can be scary)

No edged weapons by the bed here.
A Les Baer Concept 6 1911 and spare mag for me,
and Lil Bit has her Rock Island 1911 handy too.
Shotzilla (870, heavily modified) and AR15M4 in the closet.
Also, a Surefire E2E flashlight, and cell phone.
