I guess Mike L's an HI fan.Knowing what costs of production are like in Nepal, I believe my question about Yangdu's lifestyle was valid.
I love Bladeforums and its members, and plenty of people here agree with me on the KH/HI thing. I've even received an e-mail or two from people who agree, but haven't posted on the boards.
Thanks for the positive commentary.
But you dont have any knowledge of Yangdus lifestyle, and you didnt ask, you implied some type of wrongdoing was afoot.
I cant ever recall reading a "review" where the reviewer brings the lifestyle of anyone into question.
My comment came well after my review. You're right, I have no knowledge of her lifestyle. My exact words were, "I wonder what Yangdu's lifestyle is like." Costs of production per khukuri probably do not exceed US$10, including payments to kamis. I believe she is making a lot more profit on them than KH is, although KH can benefit from economies of scale as Nepali soldiers all over the world get their khuks through them. Most of the Gorkhali folk I know who know of Khukuri House have never heard of Himalayan Imports.
