Ranger I started out with the Atkins diet, but couldn't afford to stay on it due to the cost of the meats.

Some time back I discovered that I had all the classic symptoms of thyroid disease and found a local Dr. that has had excellent results with natural products for the treatment.
But when we had the blood work done my thyroid tested out perfect.
The Dr. had some other ideas and treated me for the problems.
I was absolutely amazed at the results(!!!!) although there wasn't any weight loss as he wasn't treating me for that at the time.
Dr. Wright is always investigating new naturalpathic treatments and was getting ready to attend a seminar on weight loss by using neurotransmitters to help curb the appetite.
He came back from the seminar very impressed with the results other clinics were having with the program and immediately started the program.

I have several health problems that mostly started with the results of three back surgeries.
I was diagnosed in '98 with Stills Disease which the long term is The Systemic Adult Onset of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis systemic being the key word in the fact that the disease can attack all the soft tissues as well as the classic joint problems found in RA.
Then dealing with the pain issues and becoming a true couch potato I developed congestive heart failure(chf), was hospitilized and then put into a cardiac rehab program that saved my life.
The results of being a couch potato is that I kept gaining weight and wound up being more than 100 pounds overweight at 294 pounds, actually 305 to really begin with but I lost from 305 to 294 with the Atkins diet and then had some fluctuations because of the fluid retention that is common with chf.
The neurotransmitters really work at curbing the appetite and I've been fairly successful at maintaining a 1,000 calorie a day diet without much hunger.
This is also an expensive treatment, but generaly the reduction in the amount of prescriptions outweighs the cost of the treatment.
I've already been able to cut back on two expensive scripts in less than the month I've been in the program!!!!
This is going to be a long term deal for me as I still have about 90 pounds to lose.
I'm also hoping that the sleep disorders I have will help be alleviated with this program like some of the other people on it have reported.

Here's some info about the neurotransmitters.

Yvsa, the weight loss is great news. Is the neurotransmitter treatment something that can be discontinued at some point?
