Khukuri Dance

OK Cobalt, I looked. Mine is the M1, has the bolt on the side. Not sure about picture - thought the 27 had the bolt knob on top, not sure about the Blish lock ( anyway, mine can only shoot as fast as I pull the trigger... no rock and roll ).

Rusty and Cobalt, the Thompson SMG pictured is an M1A1. This was the most common and differed from the Model 1928 because it was a simpler design, eliminated the Blish delay lock, did not have a detachable rear stock, nor a ribbed barrel. The M1A1 also didn't take a compensator, only had a horizontal front stock/grip, a simple rear leaf sight and could not be fitted for the 50 or 100 rd drum. It took a 20 or 30 rd stick mag. The Model 1927 was rarer than eyeteeth, but the Model 1928A-1 was developed as a military issue with the addition of sling swivels and sometimes a different compensator other than the CUTTS. The bolt cocking handle (on top of the receiver) was beefier than the civilian/police model '28. There's a lot more variations involving blued vs. Parkerized finishes, but them there is the basics. Hope it helped. ps. they were both a blast to fire on full auto

John, this obviously shows your age. I was probably not even an Idea when you were young. HAHA. I would love to have one of those Tommy guns even if they did weigh a ton.

Well COBALT, when Sam'l Colt and I were talking about making a gun shoot faster...

Actually, when I was discussing methods of keeping the powder dry with George Washington just before he set sail across the river ....

Oh, ya, and I once cought a fish this BIG. There is a smell in the air that is reminiscent of bovinety(made up word).

Cobalt, the only relation this thread seems to have with fishing is a need for hip waders given all the bucolic bovine byproduct in it.

So, Bill, when are you going to print up those H.I. bumpers stickers that say "Courtesy is contagious when you carry a khukuri"?

And since this seems to be the humor thread, on that bag Bill wore, I found a child's fanny pack about 5" or 6" long with a picture of Mickey Mouse on it. Now if I could get a folding mouse khukuri to put in it along with my mouse gun...

You all know my fondness for old sayings. This one seems to fit here. The first liar ain't got a chance.
