Khukuri in movies

Warty I just reviewed the evidence from a set, surprisingly from exactly a year ago today. I agree your statement has a lot of merit. However that's as far as I can go and still keep it PG...
I'm not a big fan of Hollyweird the last 3 movies I caught were; Firefly, StarTrek(the JJ Abrams update) and the A-team

I can dig it, at least you now understand what I was saying. She has a decent face but even that is boyish.
The rest of her may as well be on a girlish boy. I never got he whole waif appeal thing.
I want a woman that looks like one. I think all these waif lovers are closet... well let's leave it there. ;)

Firefly or Serenity? The TV Show or the Movie? Both are fantastic and I wish the show were still on. CAN'T STOP THE SIGNAL!

I was getting a little uncomfortable(not in a good way) looking at the tail end of that set I mentioned.
Sorry caught Serenity in the theater and have it and the only season:( box set of Firefly on DVD. My favorite TV scene of all time is the "shoot" in part 2 of the Pilot. Jayne or Zoe definitely needed a WWII or M43 to balance out their belts. Kaylee is certainly easy on the eyes. At least we Browncoats own the right knives for Reavers:D

Sadly it only ran one season. :( No more Firefly. :(

Indeed we do have the right blades. My 25" Kobra should do the job. :D

Not to keep this derail going. . .

. . .well, yes, to keep this derail going. . .

. . .Firefly was the best damn sci-fi series on regular TV in a LONG, LONG time, and one of the best overall. It's sheer stupidity that it didn't make it.

I also agree that Kaylee (Jewel Staite) is a hot, hot hottie. She's the one I would have wanted to hook up with.

Cpl, the 2 main theories on its demise is it was too smart for a wider audience and 2 the Browncoat message it contained clashed with personal views of network executives. Also see why the Back to the Shire chapters were cut from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy:rolleyes:
Back on track they ought to make Monster Hunter International into a Movie with a Kami on set to make sure the blades are right!

I'd have to check the title of the chapter. I've only read the LOTR set 3 times. Next book is probably going to be Executive Orders again or R.A.Heinlein's Farnham's Freehold.

The Man Who Would Be King. Sean Connery and Michael Cain about 1975. Incredible movie and Billy Fish carried a mother of a Khukri

The Man Who Would Be King is a FANTASTIC movie and one I haven't seen in a while so I think I should dig out my copy and do so!

I just saw one in the TV show "HEROES" yesterday.

One of the Brits in "Farewell to the King" carried a khuk...

The movie had some parang-duelling too!

The movie Gandhi... all those Gurkhas marching into the plaza behind the gun-truck all have khuks on their belts.

King of the Khyber Rifles (1953)

Tyrone Power is Captain Alan King, a Pashtun-speaking Sandhurst graduate on a mission to hunt down his childhood pal Karram Khan, a Moslem fundamentalist rebel leader in the Northwest Frontier of British India. As I recall (I saw this 57 years ago) there were lots of khukuris wielded and thrown.

Here is a link to watch it on Hulu, unfortunately with commercials.

This 1953 feature was a remake of John Ford's first talkie, The Black Watch (1929). Both were loosely (and I do mean loosely) based on Talbot Mundy's 1916 pulp thriller King of the Khyber Rifles.

This is not a movie but I just saw a khukuri on an old episode of tales from the darkside it was the anniversary where this psycho couple literally have this girl over for dinner.
