Mckinney Texas.
(my grandpas farm)
there is plenty of wood to chop, a two story modern house with facilities, you could camp and have a fire, stay with others living in DFW, sleep in the house, whatever.
I would love to see your collections, we could do some wood cutting and tameshigiri type cutting.
We could also do some Martial arts training, so bring a plastic khukuri.
As things get closer, I will make a detailed map and come up with a better plan...

Total Est. Time: 13 hours, 36 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 841.47 miles

Dang. Quite a drive from here.

Keith

Danny I "Might" be able to make it too Dan's but Tejas is too far a drive for me. Sorry, I won't be able to make it.:(

Might not make it to Dan's either, but there would be at least a chance.

13 hours, 45 min. driving time. 770 miles, give or take a few. Doubt I'll make it, as I don't seem to be able to afford to drive to my Dad's house, and it's only an 8 1/2 hour drive away.

Where can I park my UFO? :)

Yeah, I used it before... but in the light of a few recent threads it might be good to use again. Maybe someone will reply with the same line :D

McKinney is about 5.5-6 hrs for me. Wouldn't add much to pick you up Yvsa if you want a free ride. ;)

DIJ - I'd be most interested in the martial arts training. Let's plan to have a nice open area to throw each other around. :D

Dan, it's much appreciated but if I were able to come Barb would have to come with me.
I am doing one helluva lot better but I still need a bit of help getting dressed along with some other personal things once in a while.:grumpy:
Then I have a lot of stuff to haul along. My rollator takes up at least half the back seat of our car and that's by lowering the handles and standing it up straight, and that's the one we had rented.
The one I ordered that should've already been here, and that I found out yesterday was backordered and didn't ship until yesterday supposedly, gotta call 'em again today:cool:  , is even larger so I'm not even sure if it will fit on one side of the car.
And on top of that I don't travel well, or haven't the last while. Frequent stops are the order of the day when we're traveling anymore. It's a pain in the ass! :grumpy:
But we'll see how I'm doing come that time of the year.:D

Hey...at least we got you to put a hopeful spin on the end of that post.....

:footinmou

We'll play it by ear, Yvsa. But, FWIW - I have a fairly large vehicle with lotsa space.....:D

I'm hoping to have a lil' something at my place in the spring next year - so maybe that'll be a better time to join up with the gang.

From Nasty's Khompound, 15.5 hrs, just over 1000 miles, would have to go and come right back since I get little time off. Do-able...but on a bike in winter?

ps: Anyone here have a relative in the airline business who could set up some discount flights?

how's it lookin, DIJ?

Gonna get a few people there?

I'm pretty local, too, about 60 miles and look forward to coming. I'd be happy to help as well.

If you triple your speed, you can get there in about three hours. Some of you folks might have to quadruple it though.

Hey guys, I will be going 8,000 miles.
I will be in an airplane for 12 hours.
Anybody beat that for distance?
