Well Photobucket is blocked at work so all I can see is red X's.

At home my system and Photobucket are so slow I hesitate to post anything using it.

Anyway I'm taking the time going thru it to find a pic so that taking all the time to let each page load won't be wasted thought I'd repost some pics;)

Is that a sheltie you've got? He looks very old. Hope he's in good health. Nice knife and nice dog.

Ah, the Boomerang. Yet another on my list of Must Have's.

Thanks for the re-prioritizing of my list btw.

Border Collie. She was 12 there. She died this year. She actually was sort of a bad dog, I couldn't trust her with poultry, but still sort of hated to see her go, cause she'd been around so long. We got her and our 1st Great Pyr and my favorite goat Easter was born all the same year. Easter is the only one still alive of the 3 and she's pretty arthritic.

The Boomerang WILL chop but IMO the curve is too extreme for best chopping ergonomics.

I think the best choppers are the arc shaped blades like the Bonecutter, Ganga Ram, Samsher, and Foxy Folly. The really curved ones and the long thin ones seem to not be as efficient for various reasons for me although the Sirupate is a good chopper for it's size

Nice pictures, thank you:thumbup:

Losing long cherished animal companions is sad and painful. I hope happy memories prevail.

My 13 year old Border Collie was excellent around poultry, herding them as expertly as she did sheep and cows.

Now she is blind and on twice daily Insulin shots due to Diabetes and she too is arthritic... but her nose still works 100%+, she navigates through the house and yard as if she could still see, eats with gusto, and most importantly of all, continues to rule over the Rhodesian Ridgeback and me!;):D

I relish each and every one of her limited remaining days.

My original Border Collie Joshua was 100% poultry safe. He lived to be 13. He probably was the best dog I'll ever own. His ability to do stuff and do what I wanted was only limited by my ability to tell him. Also unlike any other BC I've ever owned he would drive from behind. I tried and tried but could never get Kate to drive. I had to face her and walk backward to get her to stay behind them. Joshua would walk side by side with me and drive from behind. I'm always hopeful but I think Ole Joshua was a once in a lifetime

Thanks for taking the time to share your pics with us HD. Your in use pics are always fun and, in places, are sorely missed. As usual, I find myself wishing I too had 40+ acres of wooded land around my place!

Ahhh, the BGRS. If I can't snag a 16" BC one of these days when the finances are up to it (i.e. in the new year) I may just cave and get me a villager BGRS if Yangdu can cook one up in the inventory or DOTD's.

Very cool pics.

I'm getting caught up here. I have an original Bura Boomerang, but it is basically an exaggerated hanshee type with deep curve to it.

What is this one with the hitch in the spine? It is also a boomerang? I saw these last year but I believe they were typically about 15 or 16". This one looks larger.

Thanks for any info on the exact model and specs.

These were called AK boomerangs, think there were around 10 made. Most were around 15 - 16" but there was at least one that was 18". I think this one was the passaround.

You indeed did have a rare if not totally unique BC.

Becky drives everything at me!.

One time this happened to be six 800pound beef cattle down a stock yard race with a high rail fence. Slowly at first, but then with increasing speed, the six huge critters were being controlled by the 'eye' and occasional nip of the 40pound Becky.

The cows and myself realized at exactly the same moment that their only means of escape was down and thru the shute which I was blocking. I knew I never would make it up and over eight foot high fence. Despite me weighing over 500pounds, I made a 15yard dash down the narrow race, the six cattle behind me with Becky at their heels, to the safety of the holding pen. Glad it had not been a longer distance, I asked an astonished and very amused onlooker "Who said fat men can't run?"

How I wish I would have had a Border Collie who drove from behind that day!

Thanks for the good laugh, Bonk!
That must've been a helluva thing.....
Brings back memories of my youth on various dairy farms.

Kate herded a huge bull that got loose back to my neighbor one time. She was nuts though. The moon really pissed her off. She could see it up there and couldn't get it. She'd bark at it in frustration.

Right. Yangdu sent it to me free so to keep the karma flowing I did a passaround raffle with it.

Thanks Hollow. The blade geometry looks very much like the 18" Balance. I imagine performance would be almost identical.
