Heres a copy of an e-mail I recieved earlier today !!
"Hi folks,
I have had an interesting night, The police have just arrived with their tracker dogs to try to find a gentleman who broke in to the house to acquire my TV and VCR.
I woke at 00h30 to a noise of something falling I got up , grabbed the torch and the Khukri from my bedside table drawer and went to investigate.I was not sure if it was a cat or a buglar at that stage. I shone the torch on the diningroom table as I had had guests and had not cleared away the dishes . Out of the corner of my eye I saw the gentleman approaching with a knife in his raised right hand. I swung with the khukri and luckily for him, missed. He jumped back then came forward again saying, in Afrikaans, he was going to stab me . I kindly reversed the khukri and hit him on the left forearm. he grabbed the cloth from the tv table wrapped it around his left arm and again came forward. I hit him again with the back of the khukri but did not want to injure him to such a degree that he made an all out attack on me as he kept saying he was going to stab me dead. He then put the knife behind him and said he had a gun and asked me for the khukri or he would shoot me. I then suggested to him that he leave by the back door or I would have to chop him with the kukri. He backed to the door ,eventually managed to open it and ran off., with my cloth. It is amazing how clearly you think at a time like this as I was damn scared.
The police have come back and say they cannot pick up his trail with the dogs. I have had about 8 different policemen in the house and they are coming back in the morning with the fingerprint boys. The police have just returned my table cloth which they found down the road and the police van has driven off so now I must try to sleep but am a bit pumped up as I thought my last day had come when he came at me with the knife. Love to you all. Don."
I miss that chiruwa but I am sure glad I gave it to him now !!
