I been getting some fantastic deals just by emailing Miss Yangdu, as good as the DOTD, just tell her what your looking for, she emails you back in a timely manner w/ what HI has in stock and its a " done deal ", shes here to sell you a khukuri, I have a deleted bank account to prove it lol
Where I work there's a weapons block on the internet, but the HI Online Store comes in fine cause the word "knives" isn't in the title

Re: monitoring every keystroke.. There are perhaps three ways. 1) keylogger software on the PC, 2) keylogger hardware (typically an adaptor between the keyboard and the PC), and 3) sniffer software on the network that monitors traffic. The sniffer software won't be able to snag your encrypted stuff, but pretty much everything else. The question isn't "is it possible" but rather "does anyone care." Please note also that keylogger software *might* be on a machine because it's infected with spyware or a virus. In general, be wary of public machines.

Also, some cell phones have internet access.

Hey Mike, maybe one of those new-fangled cell phones that has web access. My brother has a Treo 650 that is a cell phone, a PDA, gets email and can browse the web. The data part of the cell phone service it $45.00/month. :rolleyes:

That's if withdrawl gets REALLY tough. :)

If you want webmail or web access at work follow Ferguson's advice, it is so easy to run web access thru a single server and run all kinds of filtering and reporting on the traffic. If you are getting paid to be somewhere, don't expect privacy, even when you are on break or at lunch. You only have to be unlucky once to lose your job. How many times have you searched for something, clicked on a link in the search results and been surprised? When I first got the internet I wanted to buy a leather A2 pilot's jacket and I had heard about this place called The Cockpit that sold real Cooper brand flight jackets. Boy did I get my eyes opened when I searched for it on the internet! If I'd have been at work, I'd have been toast.

Our department network guy has warned me that our internet access will be severely restricted in the not too distant future. I think they are still trying to figure out how to allow access to semi-work related sites, but none of the rest. Bladeforums will likely be lumped with "the rest".

Us worker-bees have joked about bringing to work our own laptop computers with Wi-fi capability so we can still surf the news sites, etc. It is sad that a few bad examples...who can't control their urge to visit the nastier internet sites along with on-line gambling, are gonna mess it up for everyone else. :(

Stop the world. I wanna get off.

in regards to the keylogger thing - they could also set up a trip wire system for keywords. type in gun onto your computer, and it saves what the keylogger logs for the next hour. that way the just go in at the end of the day and check all the "bad" keywords that have been logged.
