Along with trying to complete knife orders I had to make one just for the fun on it. Not an authentic duplicate but enough of a look-alike to use the name.

5/32 ATS34 heat treated to Rc 58-60 with a cryogenic quench.
"Appleseed" grind with mirror finish
Bacote handle
Overall length:10 1/2 inches
Blade:6 inches
Leather scabbard included

$190 plus $6 Priority Mail to the lower 48

Paypal, money order or check accepted.

Interesting design! This one seems to be quite a shift from the type of knives you typically make. Is this your first in this style?

Also, is it 1/8" thick? Just checking the heft...

This would be my second one; the first went off the table at the blade show this summer. 5/32 inch steel used on this one.

Hey Gerry or anyone... Educate me on the history/ purpose of this style of knife. It is fantastic! What a showpiece!. It would look great sitting on my mantel. (or on my belt:) )

The khukri in general is a traditional knife of Nepal. Its size and forward curving design make is a wonderful chopper and it can also serve as a general purpose knife and weapon, depending on size. Roughly speaking they are 12-20 inches in overall length. (I've got them ranging from 6" to 30")

Take a wander over to the Himalayan Imports forum for a lot of history of the uses of a khurkri, the different styles and military significance for the Ghurka troops.

Beautiful work, by the way!

Gerry, If this one is still availble I will take it

Sorry Milton, this one sold a few weeks ago at a gun and knife show. I could make another one similar to this but I am two to three months behind on orders right now.
