KHUKURIVEDA, or, tips from the pundits on dings & swings

Each kami believes he can make the best version of anything. It's something that I don't mind because it emphasizes the fact that these are "hand crafted" blades and no two are exactly alike.

that's one of the things I really like about the HI khukuris - that they're not stamped-out. Even 2 Durba-BAS's will be different.... B.

I like it too except when they stray too far from the original -- like deciding to make the 21 inch Chitlangi in an 18 inch length.

is Lee Valley the only shop which sells the chromium oxide abrasive/sharpening compound for charging strops? B.

Ben I'm sure there are others, but tonight I probably shouldn't even be posting.
I can tell I'm still pretty groggy from the procedure done on me today.
They finally came across with some pain meds after I took my own and then the ones I was due at the time anyway.
Doesn't mean I quit hurting, just that I didn't don't care.:)
Answering this to BTTT. :)

Yvsa - didn't realise you were having a procedure done today - hope everything came out OK. I know that groggy-hurting-but don't care-feeling, having been through quite a number of procedures in the last few months myself. The not-groggy-hurting-and do care-feeling which comes after the meds wear off isn't pleasant either.

take care, Ben.

Where the hell did they ever get a name like "procedure" for all that torment they put you thru?

Because the ones doing it are going through 'procedures' while you are going through hell?;)

I don't know Bro. I know that the heart cath isn't supposed to be that big of a deal, but I am still tired and groggy and headachey, as well as, well never mind.:)
Maybe I'm just a wimp?:D

Yeah, you're a wimp.

And after nine months of figthting beaurocracy up to the state level, I gave up.

Instead I bought two cz83's for $455 +$166 for 4 hi-cap magazines, $105 for mandatory training, ( plus a 266 mile round trip, & a night in a motel), $60 to the SO, $39 to the DMV - just out of a highly unlikely chance ( that one day I might have a clear shot of doing one where I figure I can actually get away with :D one of the bastids without getting caught ) that all that might be worthwhile? Uh Huh, just a minor little bit of pique. Rusty

Bro now tell me....... Did you really *give up* or did you just get really tired and *give out*?:(
That's what the bastids like to do you know. They figger if they draw out the beaurocracy long enough that you will do that, give up-out, or worse yet run outta money.
WHILE *they* have the public money trough they're eating from with unlimited(almost) funds.
AND They have the time seeing as how most of them are tied in somehow-way with a *public servant* job classification even if only self written and these people(?) are usually always legends in their own minds.

Actually I've decided it would be a better use of my time to take up the hobby of exploring and charting the old mining districts for unsealed old mineshafts - preferably very deep ones! :D :D :D

Give up, like heck! I'm still working on my blatantly obvious insanity plea -

I've got another "procedure" to face at the dentist's office in the very near future. The reason they call these the "golden years" is because it takes so much gold to survive them.
