kicked out of the pawnshop

I would have just loooked at the knife, looked at the dealer with a smirk, and quietly left his esteblishment, never to return.

You put crooks out of business by not buying from them. You can't win by fighting in another man's dojo!:thumbdn:

Some makers will occasionally put knives in pawnshops to help pay the bills. This could be the case with this knife, but you don't usually find makers marking their knives 440 SS. If the knife isn't worth $130.00 then walk away and go find a knife somewhere else.

You have been thrown out of the shop. How are you going to go back and take photos? Do you think that after telling him the knife is a $10.00 POS that he will be interested in letting you look at it again?

ALL YOU PEOPLE DON"T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND!!!!! I wasn't being at all rude to the guy and trying to mess with him. He was trying to sell ME the knife like a crooked car dealer sells a lemon. I mean he's selling 4'' cold steel voyagers for 100$. mostly why I posted was to maybe see what the knife might be. and again it looks kinda lika an applegate-fairbairn. with an eagle sheath. He reqads the cold steel catolauge to anyone who comes it and says aus8 is like the ALMIGHTY space age steel . I couldn't inagine how he sells jewlery.

No, you don't understand.

You violated the number one rule - don't tell someone their knife is crap if they "know" it is not.

Whether or not they are selling crap is not germane.

You, nor anyone else, can stop a legal activity.

As YOU know better, you will not be swindled by the fast sell. It is not your responsibility to stop it.

Eventually, sales may become so low as to force a change in tactics on the sellers part. If not, well, there is a sucker born every minute (not a real quote, I know).

Just let your friends know not to shop there and move on with life.

you're a dork. I do understand. obviously you don't get it. and I am moved on with my life. I went back to the pawnshop and STOLE the knife. I'll post pics soon.and maybe someone can tell me what it is

it he wasn't just selling an overpriced knife, he was totally trying to beat me. just like when he was telling other people about spaceage aus8 and selling voyagers for 120$. you people seem to think I was rude or something. I was just like I don't think it's worth 200$ so he was all lying to me about tony made. So screw it. when I went back with my hat and sunglasses on and the old lady was working I asked to look at like 20 other knives and when I dropped one on purpose and she went to pick it up I shoved it in my coat. So I have it for free now Tony Made. YEE HAWWW.

I can't believe what I just read on here...

Nice way to endear yourself to the knife community...hell...any community...

The percentage of trolls to good guys here is pretty low. But unfortunately we do get them, often young & inexperienced. This is about as bad as it gets, boasting of criminal activity.

I know not what course others may take, but as for me, ...

Once again a crook proves that they aren't the brightest bulb on the tree. Not that that is the least bit surprising.

He's either a thief or a troll, and either way he's walking the plank.

Just Released Crook.

Most pawn shops I've been in have numerous closed cirucit cams all over the place. Hell, a few of them even have to buzz you in like a jewlery store. He better not step in there again.

There are times when the situation requires that you speak the truth to a store owner. For example, I went into a mall shop that had carried a nice selection of name brand knives such as Al Mar, Spyderco, SAK, Buck, and Gerber. I looked around and saw none of them and asked the owner if he was carrying any of those brands. He said that he was not but that he was carrying knivesd just as good. With that, he produced a number of Peoples Republic of China made POS knives. I looked at them, noted that most of the locks on them were not fitted properly and did not work well, and said so. He asked what I was carrying. I showed him my Camillus CUDA MAXX 5.5 and he announced in a confidant tone that it was made in China and that it, too, had the same loose lock fittings, all of this without actually handling it. I opened it and showed him the tightness of the frame lock and the "Made in USA" label on the blade at which point he simply laughed and said that the label was false and that nobody made knives in this country any longer.

His statement was so obviously untrue that I simply gave up and walked out, saying as I went, that I had spent a good deal of money in that store in the past, but that it had seen the last of me. And it has.

Unless you truly want to do business there in the future, why waste your breath? If the owner was trying to make a sale, and you proved him wrong, that was one thing. The owner obviously was trying to make some quick cash with his junk, and didn't care what you said. He would've told you anything to make that sale, as evidenced by his made in usa comment.

As for the goofball who stole the knife, he's lucky he didn't get shot. He probably didn't even steal the knife, probably thought he was cool by telling us he did.
