Kifchen knives?

I bought a set of Shun for my GF. They dull pretty quickly, and get nicks easily. of course I am used to my hunting knife which is D2, but still the shun blades are very soft. I wish I had assembled a set with each being from a different custom maker on this forum.

Ummm... Last I heard, Henkles aren't made in Germany anymore. I heard they moved their manufacturing to china.

Henckels has long had an international line made in China, Japan, Thailand, Brazil, Spain, etc. However, their premium-quality knives are still made in Germany and still bears the twins logo, while the international line knives have half a twin logo.

The SG2 core on my Shun Kaji chef and paring knives I believe is 64rc. I've not had any problems with quick dulling or nicks.

I'm pretty sure cckw is talking about the VG-10 Shun knives, not the SG-2.

My VG-10 Shuns are holding up fine. 3 months of light use and I've only had to steel them. No need for sharpening yet.

Glad he ordered what he wants. I "we" want to hear about the wonderful meals you are going to get! (smile) I had to have a set too as I didn't want to feel like I was still in college. I want to look like I am college . . .
