Not being very knowledgeable on custom knives, I recently had the opportunity to try a Kiku knife for preparing some game.
I've long been used to good quality factory knives,SOG, Spyderco etc, but must say I was astounded by the efficiency of the compact little knife used.
Is Kiku a particularly well known brand/maker ?
I've long had the belief that maybe the best knives must come from Japan, as most big makers still seem to have their top models made there.

Kiku is a fairley well known custom maker

He makes a fine cutting tool and is known for his complex grinds and nteresting etch (finish on blade)

I have one and it is a fine knife

Yes......Kiku Matsuda has become fairly well known in the U.S. and is very well known in Japan. Don't be afraid to purchase a Kiku blade when you can afford one.

I have a few Kiku knives and they are all great blades. These two little ones are probably my favorites.
I heard the he does (some of ?) the grinding for Willian Henry knives too.
