Killa Zilla II vs Battle Mistress?

So, today morning I finally received HUCK in black- blue/black g10. Awesome blade. Feels light and quick in the hand. Much better than traditional kukri knives IMHO. Though my first impression is still same as I wrote before- straight blade would be definitely more versatile.

you can always carry inside the pants, but you gotta have lots of room in front.............:D

That’s how I carry my Ruck

I was part of the original test team for the Killa Zilla 10+ years ago and ran it against the 7 of 13 NMFBM on a variety of tasks, including chopping down a 40 tall foot oak tree

preferred the NMFBM almost across the board. However, I know there has been refinements on that model since and have not used any other version of a Busse Kukri

I have only had a Forsaken Battle Mistress and a custom shop Kukri. I still have the Kukri. Fast, feels more agile, it is a responsive and dangerous feeling weapon in the hand. Haven't used it yet though.

wow, old thread rehash. There are to many variables to just say one way or the other which chops better. Physics dictates that mass wins every time. And Khukuris have more up front mass than comparable knives. Which means theoretically that a Khukuri should outchop a straight knife. In this is likely true for short chopping sessions. In reality, fatigue is a big factor and the the lighter blade may have an advantage over longer periods of time. Also depending on the type and size of wood as well. I have spend countless hours chopping with khukuris and straight knives. The large heavy khuks do hit harder, but they are also harder to control and much harder to stop if you miss the wood. Usually your shin is in the path. I like both. The Zilla is very similar in heft to the 18 inch HI AK I use to use to chop many cords of wood along with my SHBM. After a while I would switch over to the SHBM and stay with it because it felt so light and easy to use.

Thank you, it is a beautiful knife. Regarding Widow Jane, I have only had their standard offering so far, and every bottle has been good quality, I like it a lot.

I miss my WTF, loved how the edge protruded slightly past the fusion handle talon hole allowing for cutting on a flat surface. Monster chopper too
