Killer deal on Skyline Fixed Blades

Got mine today and while the handle is pretty thin and I anticipate some hot spots if used without gloves, I'm really glad to have a solid little fixed blade that can fit in a pocket. The sheath leather is pretty flexible but the double stitched welt is a nice touch. Nice to support American jobs at such a great price too. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, that double stitched welt I mentioned above is coming in handy because the inside stitching is coming undone where the end of the blade meets the sheath at the tip. I'm gonna keep it and not bother sending it back. The price was too good.

Something interesting I noticed on 1 of my orange skyline. I bought 4 in total. 2 orange 2 black.
The one on the left has different g10 than the others that is much grippier.

I ordered two of the orange ones. They are pretty sweet little knives. I notice that the sheath leaves a black residue / stain on the edge of the G10 slabs. I guess it is to be expected though. Very nice. Funny how carrying a ZT0200 for over a year makes these feel 'small'.

Oddly enough I've noticed the G10 on my Spyderco's is much grippier than my Kershaw's. I actually prefer the less grippy g10.

I saw these for sale on a couple different sites and now all mention of them are gone except at Cabela's.

Hard to believe they sold out on those other sites and they pulled the info down.

Did something go down with these, being a Cabela's exclusive?

I picked up an orange one and love it. Mine has that rougher G10 finish too.

My orange one is textured like the one on the left in Elgreco's post. It is a pretty coarse texture, and it rubbed off a fair amount of the black dye from the leather sheath pulling the knife out. I like the feel of the knife a lot - decent size, good weight, comfortable in hand. I think a slimmer kydex sheath would go terrific with this to make a good necker or even pocket carry. The blade stock is substantially thicker on the fixed blade than the folder version, but it still makes a fantastic slicer. All in all, an excellent knife.

I got two in the mail last week, one for me, the other for a friend's Christmas present. I've been using mine for a week and I really like it, I also like the leather sheath quite a bit. Good stuff!
