A few up for sale today. I need to raise cash, therefore NO TRADES PLEASE!!! Prices include shipping in the USA. I might consider an international sale but prefer a USA sale. Payment via Paypal Friends & Family or Zelle!

Karesuando Stuorra Aksu
I am the original owner. I think this was 12C27 steel but I can't remember for sure. But I know it is one of the tough Swedish stainless steels. Birch handle. Leather sheath and box included also. Zero use and new/mint condition.
Price is $239

Northmen Guild Northlander Hatchet

Note that these have something like a 1 year lead time!! I am the original owner. If I recall correctly, it is a K460 blade laminated with another steel, and an elm handle. Leather sheath. Zero use and new/mint condition. I hate to sell this one, it is amazing, but I need the funds. :(
Price is $449

Hoback Ps2 Axe

I am the original owner. AEB-L steel, black carbon fiber with blue hardware. Black kydex included also. Zero use and new/mint condition.
Price is $219

I'm interested in the Hoback Ps2 Axe. I'm going to do some YouTube research after my daughter goes to bed tonight. While it's made from excellent steel, and it has a nice Kydex sheath, it's very lightweight for the size. It also has an oddly shaped cutting head. I'm looking for a survival hatchet/tomahawk that can actually process wood decently. I'll get back to you.

I'm ready to buy the Hoback Ps2 Axe. Let me know how we can get this done.

The safest way to do this is buy a gold membership so we can PM here on Bladeforums. Scammers are everywhere, and love to pretend to be sellers and email you directly. Are you able to get the membership?

How much is the Gold Membership gonna cost me? I have to add that to the cost of the axe.

Sorry, I changed my mind. It's a nice portable axe/tomahawk. However, the retail price was $485, and it's made in China. I good conscious, I can't support the Chinese Communist Party that way. Thanks anyway.

Let me think it over a bit more. I'm not a fan of purchasing things that support the Chinese Communist Party, but it is a really nice survival axe/tomahawk. I'll do some more reading about the company Bestech, which manufacturers it. I know the knife/blade world is slowly transitioning to China. I've noticed that in just the past 2 years, companies that solely manufacture blades in China, have massively increased in quality, including the quality of the steels they use. A lot of those Chinese made knives are better than the USA made knives I own.

The chinese have got their money from this product already........ I agree with your sentiment and did some of the same mental gymnastics.......👌

It's definitely getting tougher to find quality blades that aren't made in China. And as much as it pains me to admit it, some of the better fixed blades sold these days, are full tang DC53 or Sleipner Steel knives made in China. Even just a few years ago, you couldn't really trust those knife companies like Eafengrow, which solely manufacture their knives in China, to actually be made from the advertised steel. Times have changed. I've watched torture tests of some of these newer DC53 and Sleipner Steel knives made by companies like Eafengrow, Sitivien, and BA-KOR. They hold up extremely well.

Regarding the tomahawk, I managed to finally find a Smith & Wesson SW671 Extraction and Evasion Combat Tomahawk available for purchase. It was in new condition with the box. That was the survival tomahawk I really wanted, aside from the Benchmade 172 Killian Tomahawk. The 1070HC Smith & Wesson was $100. A Benchmade 172 Killian Tomahawk would cost me $350-$500, even on the secondary market.

So you bought a Taiwanese axe from a company who makes 90% of their product line in China. 🤣🤣🤣

1. No, it’s really not. There are tons of quality blades out there not made in China.

2. They are not some of the better fixed blades sold these days. IMO, of course. When I think great fixed blades I’m not picturing Chinese made.

3. Let’s stop shitting up this man’s thread. A basic membership is $10. It enables you to send PMs. That isn’t much to add to the price if you’re serious.

Like half the knives I own are made in Taiwan. The Taiwanese know how to forge quality steel. The companies that used to make knives in Japan, moved production to Taiwan, but they brought the steel forging knowledge with them. I own several USA made knives. If I'm being honest, some are pretty bad, and some are question marks, because I haven't really beat on them yet. Whenever someone who doesn't know much about knives, wants a fixed blade knife suggestion, the typical advice was to buy a standard Ka-Bar. I own a standard Ka-Bar, and it's a piece of garbage. I never used it, because I knew it couldn't hold up to survival knife abuse, and it made more sense to keep it in new condition to sell it. I own several Ontario fixed blades. I've lost count. They are all excellent knives, but the now defunct OKC always left the sharpening up to the buyer. That was always fine with me. OKC fixed blades were generally less expensive, because they didn't come properly sharpened from the factory. Cold Steel CPM-3V fixed blades are all made in Taiwan. The CPM-3V Trailmaster, Recon Scout and SRK are all extremely high quality knives, that arrive shaving sharp from the factory.

As for USA made knives, there a more both good and bad example. The Becker line are some of the best fixed blades for the money. You can buy a Becker BK9 for like $115 max in sale. Then there's the Gerber Strongarm, a 4.99" fixed blade of 420HC, that costs $99. I'll give Gerber some respect for having an awesome sheath, a great warranty, and they have thr 420 HC heat treatment ont to a science, bunch like Buck knives. I honestly don't know why people pay $90-$100 for Gerber Strongarmsm knives. My Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist is made in Taiwan from 52100 ball bearing, high carbon steel. In a survival or self defense situation, I would always buy the Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist for $60 over a tiny 420HC Strongarm. The price is completely ridiculous.

Regarding the Smith & Wesson SW671 Tomahawk, Smith & Wesson indeed has a reputation for selling cheap gas station, stainless steel knives which are pretty much solely manufactured in China. The 1070HC Taiwanese SW671 Tomahawk is the exception, not the rule. Taylor Brands made that tomahawk for Smith & Wesson. Schrade knives have gone up and down in quality over several decades, due to poor management and designs. The company had changed hands many times. Their newer knives seem to be better than their old ones, at least for now.

Scammers are indeed everywhere. I've been lucky so far, but I'm sure I'll get scammed at some point.
