Hi

I was at a yard sale this weekend and I found a small 9x12 kiln. I got a good deal at $25 bucks so I said I have nothing to loose. I looked in the stickies and it has some info but for forges and 220 kilns.I have checked the temp with my pyrometer and the kiln gets to 2000 deg . It only has a on/off button.

I was looking around for controls and I think I found a kit for it for around $62 bucks but I am not sure if it is what I am looking for. If any of you guys know what kit I exactly need could you please email or post a link.

Any info would really help me out Thanks in advance.

off to work.

All the info you need is in the sticky on PID control.

What you bought is a dental/jewelers burn out oven. It will work to 1600°, but won't go to 2000°. That is just like my car having 120 MPH as the speedometer max. With an SSR to switch the power and a PID to switch the SSR, it can easily be made to run as a digital oven.

Post a photo of the oven and any stickers or info plates on it.

Thanks . It does not have any markings.

Just was wondering if there was a paticular kit that anyone has used and found it to be of decent quality.

If you want a kit of parts and don't want to find them yourself to save some money, call Auberins.
