I've had an idea for several weeks now for doing this sheath but didn't have a large enough sheath that I could make it work. As a kid I remember going into public restrooms mainly in old gas stations and seeing "Kilroy Was Here" and wasn't sure what it meant. I just thought this Kilroy fellow did a lot of traveling. Here an explanation about Kilroy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilroy_was_here As for the knife I forge the blade from 1" round L-6. The blade is 8 1/2". I also used a piece of stabilized koa for the handle along with iron fittings. Overall the knife is 14".

Ray,

That one is seriously cool!

I love the fittings. I don't recal seeing a guard like that on any of your knives, I LOVE it.

I'm old enough to remember "Kilroy was here" also "Candy is dandy but sex wont rot your teeth" on bathroom walls.
Nice knife and sheath Ray!

of all the Raymond Richard knives I've ever seen, I've never wanted to own one more than this one.
This is my favourite of all time!

There is so much going with this one. That guard looks super elegant, the wood is killer, and that sheath is over the top!

Ray the sheath is a good chuckle and fabulous. That handle, guard and blade are just perfect together. You constantly amaze me.

Best,
Eric

And here I thought Kilroys was just a great burger place in LV and a robot from STYX. Nice knife and very unique sheath. Cool package!

Seen many a "Kilroy was here" in my time but none of them were as nicely presented as this one

After viewing the replies about Kilroy it turns out he was quite the world traveler. I don't recall hearing from those astronauts if there was evidence that Kilroy had made it to the moon before them. :D

I need to get some more knives finished up so I can do some more sheaths. Not sure what next but something will come to mind. Thanks for the replies!
