Kilt recommendation

Many non-scots have embraced the Utilikilt and sport-kilt as casual weekend wear. It is great in the shop and for doing yard work. People are becoming more used to seeing them, too. This helps with fewer dumb questions or cat calls.

A few weeks ago I was at Home Depot in my Utilikilt. A 20-something gal walked by and said, "Nice kilt." I turned and commented as she walked past, "Your jeans aren't looking bad either." ......... I am a dirty old man, so I can get away with it ;)

None Scots wearing kilts huh? What's the world coming to - males wearing earrings..... and now skirts. Oh well. :)

I have a Utilikilt, but like my formal dress much better ( or maybe it's the occasion for the formal wear I like better). Wasn't cheap for sure.

i Think scottishkiltshop.com and utilikilts.com are best kilt selling companies in america

Since this has popped back up.

There are online ( ebay and others) kilts that look a lot like the Utilikilt for a fraction of the price. These aren't as heavily built, but for the occasional wearer, they are fine. I have one that I use for the shop and reserve my Utilikilt for days when I am doing less damaging work. IIRC, it was only $50-60.

Och lads..Wha's on the beer fridge in your shop? Dinna ken wha's on mine? Slangevar!

Some funny looking bovine horns there, LOL!

I wrote a couple of fiction novels a decade or so ago set in eighteenth century Scotland, just before the last Jacobite uprising. Hardest part was getting the dialect right.
Edit: dang, mor like twenty years ago, 1997! Time do fly.

Lot of knife handles in that pile!

Ah the 1745 or quarter to six as its often called. We were there, we charged at Culloden, many are still there.

There are those that say I have a preference for the Islays. I simply do not know how they have come to that conclusion.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
