I don't know if I've mentioned this before or not, but Kim is talking about getting married.
42 year old guy she has been seeing for years for one week annually at summer camp. He lives at the independent living facility she moved to last November. I asked, and she agreed, to give it a year before making a final decision, on the grounds that after a few months in close proximity they may not be able to stand one another. He also has traumatic head injury, from an auto accident, but his affects mostly his mobility, he does not have the speech and cognitive limitations Kim has.
Speaking of Kim's cognitive limitations, he is a bama fan, but what can you do? Actually, used to be a scholarshipped swimmer there, so I suppose he can't help it.
I wish I could remember the name of the doctor who chided my wife. As Kim lay in a vegetative state, and Kathy was playing music to her, reading to her, rubbing flannel, ballons, sandpaper, foil, etc. on her hands and face, anything to provide mental stimulation, he told her she was foolish to think that Kim would ever be more than what she saw lying there. I would like to invite him to a wedding.
