  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Kind of along the same lines as the pencil sharpener

As nice as a P-38 (can opener type) is, have you tried the British version? I have one and IMO it's better. It's pretty much the same design but it's longer.

I haven't seen any. I have seen the P-51 but never tried it, I've used the P-38 for close to 50 years, can't remember ever having any trouble opening any cans with it.

providing that it is stiff enough.

It is, the gauge is not much different than my store bought cabinet scrapers.

Nice idea. In the Marines, the P38 was also call a John Wayne. I like the scraper idea. Would an curved edge on one side, like an ulu, be of any value as a survival blade? Regards.

Sure it would, you can focus the energy into a smaller area and work smooth the inside of bowls and spoons.

I've also heard the "John Wayne" for the P-38.
