Kind of bummed on new Grip

whatever...not for me. And I bet I'm not alone in that.

This is kinda why I went with the BM 707 Sequel....

Aluminium handles with G10 inserts.

Some people just do not take to the Grip. The handles on the Grip are very strong and resistant, but some people just prefer a more "solid" feel.

Try a BM Rift :)

I have a BM 555 MiniGrip. Compared to my G-10 Spydercos, it doesn't feel as solid, but compared to my FRN Spyderco (Salt 1), I'd say it feels just as solid, but not as heavy. Give the MiniGrip a chance and it will probably grow on you. It was my EDC for more than a year.

One of the main advantages of the Griptilian line, IMO, is its light weight. If it weren't for my UKPK, the Grip would probably get carried in dress slacks.

For reference the mini grips have a full-length liner while the full-sized ones have the "tanged" partial liners like the 940/960/530 etc. They're tough enough, though, that you'd think they went all the way through!

I love my grippy. I got the 551s. I hate partial serrations but it's all they had and there was enough plain edge for what i needed it for. I actually was the same way i got a benchmade vex because of the g10 handles but i HATED it so i paid 40$ more for the griptilian because i saw it mentioned so much here. I ripped it down and cleaned it out and put my own lube in it and thread locked the pivot bolt and its mint now. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I wish they had the steel liners all the way down the scales but its fine for me. I'm debating on the fixed blade version because i need a good fixed blade but i saw a thread on it so im following that.
