Kinda like a junglas?

Condor Kumunga. You can find it online for about $25, which will allow you to keep saving for a Junglas without much difficulty. It's also a phenomenal chopping knife in its own right. :)

Good call. Moose

I love mine, and ESEE approves of Condor/Imacasa so much that they contracted the blades for the Lite Machete through them. Works for me! :D

I've seen the Junglas sold for $130 with no sheath, so forgo a few 12 packs of beer in the next few weeks(or days:D) and buy the blade sans sheath. When you get some more dough down the line pick up a sheath, or make one yourself... problem solved! FWIW, I've owned the RTAK II which cost $100 and it's nice but I the Junglas is worth the extra bucks imo. Better handle, better finish and of course..better warranty.

I love my Kumunga. Can't believe I didn't even think to mention it. It is a awesome knife at a great price.

I say get save for the Junglas as well. The sheath is excellent quality just like the blade is.That my friend,is a rarity nowadays.:)

The Condor Kumunga for sure-very similar design. Flat ground 10 inch 3/16ths blade with a gradual drop point and a comfortable, quality composite handle. It may not be as zooty without the fancy ESEE engraving and powder coated finish, but like all Condor's products, are very high quality and very functional. By the time you destroy it you may be able to find a Junglas :) I'd consider a 12 inch tramontina, as well.

Its kind of fun seeing all of the different ones saying/or close to as. "Its allmost as good, very close, near the quility, and so forth of owning a Junglas. Some of the others I have tryed and are very well made, and functional blades. But How many of those have the ESEE lifetime warrenty? If ya need a big blade to chop around with? I would say the ESEE lite machete. And ya can't beat the price for a quality tool as that one. A used Junglas was a good idea. and quite a few mentioned Are well made, but lifetime protection along with them? Hum? Unless you are in a hurry, save up for one that will give you a Huge Bang for your buck. The Junglas. enjoy edgy

yea i like the knives yall told me about but i guess i have my heart set on the junglas so everythin els seems to fall behind heh. I guess ill keep savin muh cash. Thanks alot for the ideas tho. I may end up with one of the condors tho they are pretty cool.

Good call. If you don't get the Junglas, you will still want a Junglas no matter what you buy, and you will ultimately spend MORE money because you'll end up buying both. Buy the Junglas and it will satisfy your need to get a big knife, and you will want nothing else and spend LESS money.

Yea i have a few machetes but i was lookin for a thicker bladed tool for super heavy use.

Plenty of options:
Becker BK-9 (~$70)
Condor Kukri Machete ($22)
KA-BAR Kukri Machete ($52)
Condor Kumunga ($34 with sheath)

Now I'm thinking that I'd like to buy a Condor Kumunga - that looks like a pretty good knife for the money. But I also want the Condor Kukri Machete although the sheath is extra and costs ~$17 - it is still a good price though. I wish I had more money, I'd buy a heap of nice knives!

the Kumunga was a bit of a disappointment to me - but it also showed up the same week as my Junglas, so I had to do some comparison cutting.
It did pretty well, but not well enough...
OTOH, I'm VERY impressed with the Condor Kukri machete.

umm bk9 all the way....$70 shipped !!! SAY WHAT ??

Or even $67.99 shipped. I'd buy one if I didn't already have one.

My Choppers:

The BK-9 chops pretty good:

I wouldn't mind adding a couple of ESEE choppers though - the Lite Machete is next on my list (along with a couple of Condor Machetes).

I think the Kumunga really excels in situations where you're heading out into the woods and need a big knife and MIGHT need a machete or other chopper, but you're not sure. It's a batoning beast and handles knife-like tasks very well, but it won't compete with dedicated choppers--it's an all-'rounder. :D

FortyTwoBlades has a great one with the Condor Kumunga, it's one hell of a blade for the price and still allows you to keep saving up for a Junglas. If you rather get something really close right now, then either the BK-9 or RTAK2.
