Kinda OT: Johnny Cash; Great Lyrics

MauiRob- you saw the Cash VS Nashville special on CMC, right? It outlines each of the American REcordings and what was happening. Cash had a video- he was on the grave of his dead woman- singing she just had to go. Modern Country didn't know what to do with that, and CMC would not even play the video! (Course, now all this is said and done and lionized CMC will play the stuff.)

Munk--No I haven't seen that special but I'd love to!

It doesn't surprise me that he would do that--I always thougtht that he was someone who knew pain, and didn't run from it. I respect that, although I don't succeed in being very brave when faced with it.

One of the things that I learned about Mr. Cash from readings after this topic started was his apparent deep faith, and that he wasn't afraid to show it, and he was above cashing (not intended)in on it either.

BTW: For those with Kids, his voice puts my daughter right down. Runnning around talking, she hears "My name is Johnny Cash" and she runs right for my lap and has a seat.

Tonight she was asleep before "So Lonesome I could cry" was done.
