We use a wood burning stove as our only heat source, so I need a durable and effective hatchet for splitting a lot of kindling. Choking up on my axe works, but I'd prefer something lighter and more comfortable to use with one hand. Suggestions? Wetterlings, Snow & Neely, Estwing, ect,? What do you use?

I use the S&N Hudson Bay for kindling and general purpose and am very impressed with it. The Penobscot looks about perfect for your chore. Same head as the HB.
